Raise your own kids or don’t have them

As a child, I was at a county fair on one of those circular roller coasters with the cage on top of your car. They didn’t buckle me in, and my grandparents were not right there. The ride went fully, I was flung out of the car and into the gate on top. I held on the entire way. Being smashed against the top over and over again every time it circled. I had gotten away with only cuts and scrapes but I have forever been terrified of these rides since. I think it was called the tidal wave or something like that - just looked it up- it was the fireball - but something older and not as recent. This was early 2000s

To ease some fears, those belts are more likely a redundancy. The harness is held on by a hydraulic cylinder behind the seat. The belt just holds it down in case the cylinder fails. More concerning is the ride operators missing that. I would have them retrained with an emphasis on checking each restraint fully before dispatch.

Everyone should have a simple pea whistle in a sealed sterile pack. It's so simple. A whistle is distinguishable from a scream.

That’s definitely a fear I have always had.

This happened to me on Nemesis at Thorpe Park, about 15 years ago on a school trip. There were two belts that come down over your head, and when the ride reached the highest peak, something told me to open my eyes (first time on the ride and I was scared) and I saw one of the belts had fallen out. Thankfully, I was able to click it back in just before the ride shot down for the fast bit. Never went on a rollercoaster again after that.

Thank God they saw it in time 😢

Something like this happened to me at valley fair I was on power tower and the e safety thing opened for me and my friends we were siting on 1 2 and 3 and we were the only one that opened and we started screaming and the ride was about to start and he stoped it

They once left my seat loose but my friend next to me was able to tighten it💀💀💀

This happened with me once too, but in a scarrier ride

This almost happened to my daughter on same kind of ride. They almost sent it up. I was ready to jump the fence, I was yelling that she wasn’t buckled in. The ride operator stopped what he was doing and went to check her buckle. He secured her in. Most awful feeling. I will never forget that scare!

No woman can ever make false allegations against him because he's never put himself in a situation where they can take anything out of context. He was ahead of his time. With so much to lose, many men are beginning to see the value in his stance.

You should never trust someone else with the safety of your kid. Mine are 10 and 5 and I always check them and then myself.

When I was on the zipper at a small county fair, they didn't have all the padding on the bars for our cage like they were supposed to, and the lap bar definitely wasn't secure enough for a lean 13 year old. I realized this when on the first fast whip-around, I wasn't prepared and didn't use enough strength to stop my head from hitting one of the bars as I was sent forward. I also slammed into the lap bar pretty hard at the same time. The hit to my head wasn't bad enough to bleed or cause a concussion, but it made me see stars for a second and I ended up with a bump. I then spent the next TWO AND A HALF MINUTES using all my arm strength to keep myself away from the metal. It was scary and exhausting, and I was just thankful for it to be over when the ride ended. But as I watched other people get out at the end, I saw that their bars were decently padded! Even then, hitting your head is still bad, but I was so pissed that our cage was so blatantly dangerous.

This is a big part of why rides are STUPID.

If the ride went on it's at that moment we find out if superman really exists 😂

The Restraints got a redundancy safety Feature and are Safe even without the seatbelt buckeled in. The Belt is Just a secondary safety system. Of course the Seatbelt should be buckeled in but normally nothing should Happen without it :)

Then prices go up if you tax the rich. How about no taxes if you do not wish to pay and more rewards if you do? How about NOT sending our money to stupid places?

Happened to me at about that age. That belt doesn't really do anything. The yellow part locks in place. I had the upper part that actually holds you in not lock in place one time at Great America. I didn't scream like an idiot though 😂 I held it down until it locked finally, thankfully as the ride I was on actually went upside down!

Moral of the story.. don't get on these rides, stay away. Safety should always be top priority.
