Thank you. It was epic to work on the Kawasaki ZX10R SuperBike. We figured it out. It was bit scary to need to unbolt the quickshifter. The carbon fiber is sensual. The weave looks exotica. And matches with the matt Puig rear hugger too. I saved up and worked hard to have the matt carbon fibre. Having matt chain guard is very fitting for the Kawasaki ZX10R SuperBike. Thank you for such a kind comment. Hopefully we will speak again. Take care :)

What kind of clutch fluid did you buy? I'm in USA

Hehe. Brembo. Brembo DOT 4. Brembo is an amazing brake and clutch fluid. Brembo is the fluid you would find on exotica like SuperBikes. Very fitting that the Ducati Super Naked gets the same. Best of the best. Hope that helps. Hopefully we will speak again. Take care :)

Where is the catalytic converter? In my opinion, the first series of 800s could be driven without a catalytic converter, but with the 1,000s it is not possible, the engine is tuned for the catalytic converter bubble.
@luke_rides
@luke_rides 19 күн бұрын
Good point. Luke Rides found the S2R 1000 Super Naked without it's catalytic converter. The engine runs smoothly and is a happy engine. Good question. The S2R 1000 Super Nakeds did come with catalytic converters when they were new. I don't think this has had the computer remapped. Not sure. It could be being a air cooled engine the engine is more flexible when it comes the back pressure in the exhaust system. Thank you for commenting. Hopefully we will speak again. Take care :)

Did you say the bike only has 10,000 miles on it? Those Plugs easily will go 50 to 60k miles and still be in great order. I wont even get into mine until about 50k and the valves will get adjusted then as well.

Good question. It has been such a long time since I did the service for the mighty Kawasaki Z1000SX. True the spark plugs would be fine for 50,000 miles or more. Luke Rides just wanted that piece of mind to know there are fresh spark plugs inside the Kawasaki. And for powerful engine like that. Spark plugs will be getting more of a hammering when compared to much less powerful engine. That makes sense having the spark plugs changed at the same time for the valves to be checked then adjusted to Kawasaki's specifications. Thank you for commenting scottmatzeder9162. Hopefully we will speak again. Take care :)

Yeah I can imagine finding termis for the s2 1000 is a nightmare it’s a shame companies like termignoni and others don’t think that some people still own and love the older bikes, I think the bikes that are a bit older are better as much as I love the 899 with all the electronics they are a bit of a nightmare . My ecu had a problem the start of last year and it set me back 2000 and something which was slightly annoying 😂, take care and keep up the great work on your channel 👍👍👍

Very true. It is really hard to find Termignoni end cans for the S2R 1000 Super Naked. Also doesn't help when S2R 800 were cheaper than the S2R 1000 and S2R 800 was lighter too. Ducati sold a lot more S2R 800 compared to the S2R 1000 Super Nakeds. Termignoni are going to build full systems for the more modern Ducati's as that makes Termignoni money. There isn't enough profit for Termignoni to keep supporting the much older Ducati's. Termignoni make their profit from supporting much more modern Ducati's. The way of the world. I love older bikes too. Very true. Super Nakeds like the S2R 1000 should be remembered. And enjoyed for what they are. And what the manufacturer could do at the time. The history behind the motorcycle. Awww. Sorry to hear what happened with your ECU. You wouldn't think the ECU would have any problems. And considering it is a pretty modern ECU with German influence. That should be a pretty reliable ECU. For everything that happened to your Ducati Super Sport. Remember it is still a awesome Super Sport to have. And when you wake up to a motorcycle like that. Like a Kawasaki ZX6R Super Sport. She puts a smile on your face. Be proud to own a motorcycle like that. Many people work so much and still couldn't save up to own a motorcycle like that. Enjoy every moment with your Ducati Super Sport. Life is too short. Awww. Be proud. There are many people out there who can't afford Ducati Super Sport. Or Even Kawasaki Super Sport. A lot of people are suffering. Money is pretty hard to earn nowadays. Money do not go as far as it used to. What happened to the world. Luke Rides will ride safe. Thank you user-gq2bs3vn3q. Have a good day. Take care :)

Thank you user-gq2bs3vn3q. Luke Rides always wants to keep his workshop videos real. Show everything that happens. I understand. It's easy to forget to clean that area around the sump plug or the oil filter housing. Sometimes that has happened to me when I have had a really busy day. Just trying to get the job done and forget to clean that area. Haha. Thank you. Luke Rides still has the Ducati Super Naked. The S2R 1000. The S2R 1000 was made couple of years before Audi VW group. The Germans bought out Ducati. And transformed Ducati. Gave Ducati access to German engineering. German electronics and computer systems. And German lessons. And knowledge. Ducati have been transformed thanks to the Germans. But the Ducati S2R 1000 was just before that happened. And it's just interesting to see what the Italians could do on their own. Made a epic Super Naked. S2R 1000 is among the last of the air cooled Super Nakeds too. I do my best to take care of the Ducati. Riding the Ducati is a experience. Special. The only negative is the exhaust system. The S2R 1000 Super Naked is quiet. I know. Even thou the S2R 1000 is EURO 4. You can tell Ducati did their best but still had to meet sound and emissions regulations. The factory exhaust is too restrictive. Holds back a lot of the boom and sound waves of that mighty 1000cc Ducati Super Naked engine. Just the way the world is going. Try finding a full Termignoni Exhaust system. Termignoni don't make any the exhaust systems anymore for the S2R 1000 Super Naked as Termignoni have moved on to supporting the Ducati Super Nakeds like Monster 1100 EVO. Ducati Monster 1200 and S and R models. And the latest Super Naked from Ducati the Streetfighter V4 and S models. Luke Rides is going to keep looking. There must be a set of Termignoni end cans somewhere. True. You need to keep up with belt changes on a Ducati L-Twin. If you don't and the belts fail and snap. The valves will smack into the cylinders. Causing serious damage to the engine. If the engine can be repaired the cost will be massive. And huge job. Get on 899. Nice. Panigale 899. That is Ducati Super Sport. That is powerful. Race Bike. Awesome. That's a lovely Super Sport. Awesome to wake up to every morning. Be proud to own a Super Sport like that. Very nice. Thank you such a nice comment. Hopefully we will speak again. Take care :)

Thank you user-gq2bs3vn3q. It was interesting learning how to remove the engine oil from the BMW 1.5 3 cylinder turbocharged engine. I don't think BMW would have designed the engine to pour out the engine oil in the way that it did. It seems very odd that BMW would not have thought about that when designing the engine. Crazy. It was very annoying how the engine oil poured out on to the ramp like that. How many workshop videos of BMW 225xr or 218i would have showed you that. Luke Rides always tries to keep his workshop videos real. Wonder if there a tool that directs the oil flow to stop it from pouring out the way it did. Thank you for such an amazing comment. Hopefully we will speak again. Take care :)

@@luke_rides yes I totally agree it’s crazy how it all gushed out all over the ramp , I bet it took a while to clean up , it great that you leave things like that in instead of cutting it out like a lot of KZbinrs do, I had it happen to me quite a few times too , but it makes it all worth while when the job is done , take care Luke rides . See you on the next video 👍👍👍

Haha. True. Even I was surprised. Just doesn't seem like a very BMW thing to happen but it did. Oil is really annoying to clean up. We did clean up the oil spill. Took some rags and paraffin but we did it. God. Thank you user-gq2bs3vn3q. Luke Rides always believes in keeping it real. Show everything that happened. So not only do people who don't know anything about BMW 225xe will learn something about this oil change. But also owners of BMW 225xe that want to have a go themselves. Just need an idea what tools to use. How to remove the sump plug. What washers or rings need replacing. Most important what to look out for. Like the engine pouring all of it's oil out on to the cover flip and a ramp! My god. Oh no so sorry that you have had it happen to you too. Darn. Some engines ware wonderful. Like the exceptional 6 cylinder 3.0 liter BMW straight six. And turbo charged Junior Supercar and Supercar models like M135i, 335i, 340i, or M3, M4 or M2. These engines would never allow the oil to just pour out on to a ramp and would come out pretty nicely. Strange that BMW didn't think of a better way for the oil to come out of the 3 cylinder 1.0 turbo charged engine. And it is BMW engine. Not engine from another manufacturer. Strange. Take care. Thank you for replying back. Hopefully we will speak again. Take care :)

By the Germans. Audi VW have transformed Ducati. All of a sudden Ducati got access to German engineering. German electronics. German lessons. But it's interesting to show what the Italians could do. This among the last of the fully Italian Ducati's. Should be remembered on KZbin. Ducati had S2R 1000 Super Naked. Made S4R liquid cooled Super Naked. The Ducati S1000 Super Naked is epic to ride. The only negative point is the exhaust system. Ducati did their best. But it still have to meet EURO 4 sound and emission regulations. Ducati all of a sudden had access to German computer systems. German electronics. German engineering. German Knowledge. German lessons. Ducati have really moved on. Thank you. This one of the first Ducati Super Nakeds to come out just after the Germans. Audi VW Group bought out Ducati and saved Ducati from bankruptcy. All of sudden Ducati got access to German electronics. German engineering. German lessons learned. German quality control. This has transformed Ducati. The Ducati Monster 1100 EVO Super Naked was one of the first. You can see the German influence in the wring loom. The quality of the fixings and that mighty Super Naked engine. Everything is so well built on the Ducati. And refined. Ducati were able to keep their styling and their way of seeing how to build a very fast engine. But using German technology and engineering. That mighty Super Naked engine spins up so fast. Stunning to look at. Luke Rides wanted to tell the truth about the Ducati Monster 1100 EVO. Wow. What a Super Naked this is. After the 1100 EVO. Monster 1200 became Ducati's Super Naked. Then the Streetfighter V4 took over as Ducati's Super Naked. Remember this is also the last of the air cooled Super Naked. No cooling fans or water jacket. No big radiator. Just the engineering and fins on the Super Naked engine to keep the temperatures within tolerance. After this we never saw another air cooled Super Naked by Ducati. This is the last hurrah of the air cooled Super Naked. What a breast she is. Thank you for such an awesome comment. Hopefully we will speak again. Take care :)

True. This was released just after the Germans. Audi VW group bought out Ducati. Ducati all of a sudden got access to German engineering. German electronics. German lessons. German quality control. Germans have transformed Ducati. This is one of the first ones. You can tell the German influence in the Monster 1100 EVO Super Naked. The build quality. Quality of the fixings. Completely re designed Super Naked engine, vacuum cast crankcases, a magnesium alternator cover, lightweight crank and a redesigned top end with improved port shapes and an increased compression ratio of 11.3:1 from 10.7:1. It is also a single spark plug head thanks to the Germans. While keeping the Italian style and Ducati's take on how to build a very fast engine. You can feel it. The power. The Torque. Luke Rides was very lucky that this has the full Termignoni system and the computer system has been mapped to the system. By god. This was the Super naked she was meant to be. Before emissions and sound regulations got in the way. You can feel the power and torque everywhere. The boom and sound waves from the 1100cc Ducati Super Naked engine. She wants to wheelie. And accelerate like a missile. Doesn't do slow. And is among the last of the air cooled Super Nakeds. This Ducati should be remembered. Never forgotten. After this Ducati moved on to the 1200 Super Naked. And now to the StreetFighter V4 Super Naked. Thank you for commenting. Hopefully we will speak again. Take care :)

Nice. Thank you. S2R 1000 Super Naked is epic. Luke Rides is keeping en eye out for Termignoni end cans with no baffles. That is the only negative thing with the stunning Ducati Monster S2R 1000 Super Naked is the factory exhaust system from Ducati. Luke Rides knows Ducati did their best but at the end of the day Ducati still had to meet EURO 4 sound and emissions regulations at the time of production. The Factory exhaust system is fairly restrictive. Holds back a lot of the boom and sound waves from that mighty 1000cc Super Naked engine. Trying to find not only the Termignoni end cars with no baffles is very hard and then to find a pair is good condition is even harder. It's the difficulties when having an old Super Naked. Termignoni have moved on to Super Nakeds like the Monster 1200 and Streetfighter V4. Not building systems for the S2R 1000 Super Nakeds any more. Tricky. Still epic Super Naked and Monster S2R 1000 should never be forgotten. It is among the last of the air cooled Super Nakeds. We wouldn't see Super Nakeds like these anymore. @luke_rides
@luke_rides Ай бұрын
Right. Dry clutch rattle is stupid. There is nothing interesting about dry clutch rattle. All that does is take away from the awesome noise and sound of the Super Naked engine. Why would you want dry clutch rattle over the booming sound of that gorgeous 1000cc Ducati Super Naked engine? That makes no sense. Even from the factory Ducati used closed dry clutch cover for the S2R 1000 Super Naked. Not to save money. There is reasoning behind covering the dry clutch cover. Sound deadening. Safety. And so the clutch rattle doesn't take away from the boom of the Ducati Super Naked engine.

Thank you djx3213. Luke Rides had a lot of fun reviewing the Ducati Monster S2R 1000 Super Naked. This was made just before the Germans. Audi VW group bought out Ducati in 2009. Saved Ducati from nearly running out of money. Germans have transformed Ducati. Ducati gained access to German engineering. German electronics. German lessons. German way of engineering. This is among the last of the fully Italian Ducati's. Wow. This is very fast. Among the last of the air cooled Super Nakeds from Ducati. The handling. Steering is Super Naked. She wants to dive into every corner and shot you out the other end like a missile. That stunning 1000cc L Win. Lots of power. Lots of torque. You can cruise in the higher gears. Just open the throttle. And be going very fast. The moment you bring the revs up your gone. Ducati S2R 1000 Super Naked is epic. Uses the second generation of fuel injection from Ducati. All computer controlled. Computer controlled ignition. The build quality is fantastic. Everything feels so well put together. From the fixings to the quality of the materials. Even the fuel tank is plastic. That's right plastic. Not metal. To save weight. Ducati did such a beautiful job with the S2R 1000 Super Naked. To think this was before Audi VW group bought out Ducati. Luke Rides is so proud to be able to make sure the S2R 1000 is remembered. So few of them were sold. As the S2R 800 was cheaper and more popular to buyers at the time. Ducati should be proud of what they created all those years ago. Among the last of the air cooled Super Nakeds. Thank you for commenting djx3213. Hopefully we will speak again. Take care :)

Thank you johanboes1. It will never have the shear power and torque of a Super Naked. But then that's not the point of a motorcycle like this. Ducati made this to be a middle ground. lightweight. Nimble. Easy to park. Easy to manoeuver. Lightweight naked bike. You do need to bring the revs up. Once you do the Ducati is pretty fast on the roads. It is fun to rev out the 600cc Ducati twin. Good motorcycle. Well built too. Everything feels very well put together and goes to show the Italians can build motorcycles very well. Thank you for commenting. Hopefully we will speak again. Take care :)
