Has nothing to do with sea level rise or planning. Anyone who lives by the sea and has ever experienced a storm sees how much power the sea has during a storm. A road like that next to the sea is simply washed away. Of course, nothing is done to repair this storm damage on this road as long as every resort is still accessible.

Thank you very much for that overview. I'll be arriving in Chakphong in ten days where I expect to live for an indefinite period. My brother who has lived there for 20 years has me set up with a small home in the countryside and you have given me the best impression that I've yet come by in my remote California location. I am abuzz with happy anticipation.

If you are afraid of rising sea levels you might as well live in Chiang Mai, 800km from the sea and a nice city.

rising sea levels or poor planning by the local officials? they may have just built the road too close, it wouldn't surprise me

very nice review. I would add bears. they obviously are smaller and avoid people but they can still be dangerous.

I never heard of an attack from a sunbear or moonbear, but maybe they should be on the list. And yesterday I read a german woman was bitten by an undetermined fish, maybe this also.

In Bangsaray we have a bird a little larger grey, white cheeks, yellow vent and a small crest moves a about in pairs or family groups. Can you name this please. Also while in France recently l saw a bird very similar to a Non whoa quan, excuse the spelling. English name? Thanks
@annetenremcointhailand-et3rk2 ай бұрын
hei is always difficult to determine a bird from a description. But your description matches the yellow-vented bulbul (Pycnonotus goiavier). But I am not familiar with most birds in France.

I live near Banchang Rayong. At the rear of my house is a Klong. I see many wading birds, types of Kingfishers, Oriels, owls sometimes migrating birds. Hoopoes are also around. Too many different birds to remember! I had Magpie Robins in a nest box on my house but the Mynah birds chased them away.
@annetenremcointhailand-et3rk2 ай бұрын
Yes, mynahs are cheeky birds. But enjoy bird watching.

Great video. Wonder if you can help. I spotted a few small (goldfinch sized) birds which were green and had a red breast but only under the beak, not all over like a robin. They were in our hotel in khao lak, feeding from a bush then wondering along the wall, they wouldnt stay still. I thought they were a cuban tody however you dont get them in thailand

It is always diffult to determine a bird you haven't see yourself of a description. But it could have been a blue-tailed bee eater.

wow very nice place nice narration , van hasilts sunbird ,looks like a double of purple throat-ed sunbrid or is it just a different name for same species ?
@annetenremcointhailand-et3rk7 ай бұрын
Van Hasselt's sunbird is now one of six species placed in the genus Leptocoma that was introduced in 1850 by the German ornithologist Jean Cabanis. The species was formerly considered conspecific with the purple-throated sunbird (Leptocoma sperata). So different name for the same bird.

nice video , can't find the chinese blackbird in either of my fieldguides only grey winged blackbird too add the red vented bulbul is common in Myanmar does not breed in Thailand
@annetenremcointhailand-et3rk7 ай бұрын
Look for turdus mandarinus to find the chinese blackbird. As the red vented bulbul: Maybe you mean two formerly designated races, P. c. nigropileus in southern Burma and P. c. burmanicus of northern Burma, are now considered as hybrids.

I was hoping to find a wierd bird I still cannot identify in Thailand. His song sounds like wowowowowow, very funny. If you have any idea please let me know.
@annetenremcointhailand-et3rk6 ай бұрын
@@sonakgth You can imagine how difficult it is to identify a bird from such a description. But I have a suspicion which bird it can be. It name is the great coucal. You can find the great coucal sound on youtube. Also I have made a video about the coucal in the past. Please let me know this is the bird you were looking for.

@@annetenremcointhailand-et3rk thanks a lot for replying, I really appreciate. Unfortunately I have listened and it's not this bird. That wowowow sound is very funny. A good movie with beautiful butterflies from Thailand. Just be careful for some error identificaton, please correct, i.e. #6. The Common Palmfly-Elymnius hypermnestra is the picture of the Common Bushbrown-Mycalesis persius. #13 The Common Mormon (not Papilio polytes, name should be Papilo memnon), the present of the pictures of these two butterflies are mixed up. #16 Mycalesis perseus but the 1st picture is a skipper which is a different family (Hesperiidae) not Nymphalidae, Satyrinae. #19 Chilades lajus (this species is small Lycaenidae without tails, but the first picture with longtial. It is that of Chilades pandava).
