I think a lot has been written into the scene Farnons history during the war with both the horses and the horse owner, Farnons admiration of this particular horse and his q under over what has caused the creature harm

I agree as far as 'comedy' is concerned. I never found her funny, but apart from this clip I have never seen her act. And she was not bad in this short scene.

Alf Wight would not of approved of inventing tales and circumstances out of whole cloth, but a remake, probably so. I wouldn't think his family would either, unless they are receiving some type of compensation for this case of a shellacking of a fantastic original creation never to be replaced.

Best? So just ignore Alf's great storylines and invent stuff like this. No real surprise these days though.

I just watched this season recently, and I thought this episode was odd with everything going on that nobody mentioned when Sheila had TB in the early seasons back when she was still sister Bernadette. I would’ve thought she would’ve been a good person to talk to the family that was dealing with tuberculosis or even to Nancy when she was going through her dilemma about her birth mother.
