Falling into the drink there is a terrible thing. The ocean is very cold and rugged. It's very hard to get out of the water, and you can't survive long in the water.

Hi! I loved your video. I’m also thinking about staying at this resort. Do you know if you have to get the pool access room to do the floating breakfast?
@kaymemoirs6 ай бұрын
I don’t think you need to book a pool access room to enjoy a floating breakfast. There's a small island in the middle of the pool where you can have your floating breakfast. However, it may not be very convenient, as you would have to go down to the pool and wait for them to deliver your floating tray breakfast. Additionally, the island faces directly towards the rooms with pool access, so I would suggest getting the breakfast delivered early to try to avoid too many people in the same general area as you. Have fun!

Usually the same driver will take you back to town. Just ask the driver to wait for you. We paid the same price going back to town. I got a drink and a delicious cake from the Cafe for our driver for being so patient:)

When we went the line queue for the shuttle was not busy. You pay a small fee when you arrive. No ahead reservation needed. I hope you have a wonderful time there.

It would be nice to hear more of the ocean than the music
@kaymemoirs Жыл бұрын
Agree. Sorry about that. The initial music used was very low and you could hear more of the ocean but the music became copyrighted so I had to use KZbin music to go over it. When I find my original video I’ll re-upload.

@AngelOlivo2 жыл бұрын
Not my video but have done this hike. Biggest things I would tell people is 1) go on the driest day you can(the hike gets exponentially harder the wetter it is) 2) good hiking or trail shoes 3) at least 2liters of water and and a snack 4) rubber palmed gloves help a lot, leather palmed gloves start to slip if the ropes do get wet.

How is the room noise at night? Are the walls thin? Can you hear street noise? That was my problem at Hyatt Regency Waikiki. It was so loud at night.
@kaymemoirs2 жыл бұрын
It is definitely quieter at the Queen Kapiolani because it's at the end of the strip. I do not recall hearing street noise, and don't recall hearing my neighbors next door.

Hi there friend, I loved my stay here. I should note that only rooms in the high tower ocean view rooms where I stayed were upgraded rooms. I’m not sure if they have upgraded the rooms in the other towers yet. Other things I love about this hotel; clean restrooms around the corner of the lobby counter. Big terrace with lush green tropical plants as you walk out of hotel. Pool is big and lots of lounge chairs. I hope you have lots of fun! Oh, you should order a fresh pineapple drink at the bar near the pool, it taste so good and looks pretty too :)
@wanderwithmari2 жыл бұрын
@@kaymemoirs thank you! I did request an ocean room hopefully we get the sane towers as you did! Yes let me know anymore tips since i will be staying there for the week. As far as parking did you guys use the hotel parking? Its pricey 😞
@kaymemoirs2 жыл бұрын
@@wanderwithmari We did use the hotel parking and it is pricey, but it was convenient and since the location is away from the east and west end I felt safe parking here. Some places offer cheaper parking but may get lots of break-ins.

How long did it take you rt? I am planning on going to conquer this myself. Do you have any advice or recommendations on best time of year to go? And would you be willing to lead future hikes for those of us who have never done it before?
@kaymemoirs3 жыл бұрын
Took us about 8 hrs- we stopped a lot to enjoy the beautiful views. Hawaii has rain all year round so whether you go during spring, summer, or fall, just pick a day that’s not wet to go. Sorry I’m not in shape to lead this hike. If you go I would advise coming back the same route and do not attempt to go down the stairs as it is currently illegal to climb the stairs. This is definitely a once in a lifetime hike so I hope you get the chance to go ❤️

Wow, you ladies rock! I couldn't tell if you had cleats of some type on your shoes --- I watched another video where the young lady claimed that cleats are a really good idea for this trail since it can be pretty muddy. Glad you made it through, since this adventure is not without risks! I've become addicted to watching Haiku Trail videos --- everyone of them has been interesting in one or more aspects.
