The fact that you can’t pronounce Huguenots properly makes m doubt you. We have strong French Huguenots roots and ancestry her in South Africa. As usual, you will totally brush aside the Huguenot ancestry here inSouth Africa, which is very strong and from whom I carry these genes.

I have a great x's 8 grandfather named Jean/John Brevard. French Huguenot. Born 1665, came to America about 1685 and settled in New Munster Somerset County onto Cecil County Maryland about 1711.. Married Katherine McKnitt about 1711. Only thing we know about him was that he was an orphan when he was 5 years old. John Brevard is part of our Alexander, McKnitt, and Wallace (all from Scotland, traveled to Ireland and then came to America) part of my family tree. He was also an Elder in the Presbyterian church in Maryland.

I also descend from a DIRECT line of Meshach Browning who also was a war of 1812 veteran , he wasn’t of much 1812 activity but he was enlisted and protected a harbor I believe. Meshach is also Marylands most famous frontiersman

Pea River Presbyterian Church in Clio, Alabama turned 200 years old last October, 2023. There were banners of the names that founded the church. Isle of Skye, Scotland, was the origin, and the church, Mt. Carmel Presbyterian Church was begun in 1776. I made videos for my KZbin channel that included the heraldry the church founders from Isle of Skye. There are many books of the history and genealogy for Pea River Presbyterian . Mt. Carmel has a 250 anniversary coming up in 2026. I will check nearby public libraries for history and genealogy.

I had my dad do an Ancestry DNA test. My grandmother died relatively young. She was from the south & was Welsh, that's all we knew of her side. We come to find out that she is related to Daniel Boone 1c4r & then to Pres. Abraham Lincoln 3c2r thru the "Lincoln Lee's" as I call them. Because there has been controversy that Abe is related to Robert e. Lee; this is not true. It was proven in 2018 when a DNA test revealed they are from two totally different Lee lines. The history & past documents have revealed that the Boones & Lincoln's were related. Once the Boones left the Quaker faith the Lincoln's & others: Webb; Ellis; Lee; Hughes pioneer families followed, to Virginia & North Carolina & eventually to Kentucky. It really was a smaller world back then until they started to have huge families.

I’m Australian, and am a volunteer guide in an historic home. I haven’t watched your video in full yet, but I’m very interested in your critique of the situation in America. There is a conformity that is handed down from well funded organisations, such that everything is the same, there is little imagination shown. Will get back to you after watching the video. I’ve searched for some article on creating sound in our one of our museums, regarding radio and phonographs or voices from the past in conversation round a dining room table. I’d also like to see less glass separating the viewer from the object on view. Have as yet found nothing on the internet. At one house museum, we have successfully broken down the idea that the guide is the expert. Now it is more about talking as equals, where the visitor remembers grandparents using a stove or an implement for cooking etc. Interestingly we have a ethnically diverse community with country people as against city people having different memories. For instance the Iceman came to both Sydney and Brisbane in 1895. The ice incidentally from Canada. In the country towns, the Coolgardie safe was their option for keeping food fresh. I hope you mention the violent lunatics who sent two groups of paid men -- paid by Jeff Davis --to invade Kansas by terror and murder. Sent specifically to make KS a slave state--though they were keenly aware (because Stephen A Douglas famously told Davis before hand) that 95 % of Kansas Citizens were against slavery.. Then added that blacks do not have right to life --did not have right to liberty. Did not haver right to happiness. I need to mention that because generation of well meaning fools mention "citizenship" but never mention clearly the whole of it. Jeff Davis then -- immediately - as planned -- used Dred decision to justify all past -- and all future invasions, killing paid men specifically citing Dred Scott decision. You need to teach that or your students can have little or no idea how a relatively small group of hateful cowardly men --took over the South and went to war to SPREAD slavery , as they claimed FOR GOD

We'd say Ulster-Scots over here in Scotland, only the US Irish & Irish catholics use that term, they were essentially Scottish but the term Ulster-Scots is pretty accurate. Definitely not Irish no matter how much wishful thinking exists out there.
