Its good to see the trades being taught to the next generation. The United States needs to bolster our ability to make things now and into the future, for without it we will be no longer. Machinists and Toolmakers are a necessary asset to any nations viability. Im a recently retired Machinist/Toolmaker in Cleveland and have seen the industry dwindle down to just a shell of its former glory. There used to be machine shops on virtually every corner. Most of the shops I worked at are long gone. I still have my toolboxes full of tools and memories.

I think the future for machinists looks bright. I'm currently in this program at wctc and with the recent advances in robotics and space exploration, we're gonna be in even higher demand. And a lot of people in my generation have an interest in this field

@@adlerstrohkirch6191 good luck to you as you learn the art of tooling. Its a very rewarding trade and with it you will learn the skills needed to fix or make things for home and shop use also. I enjoy hearing about young people getting interested in the trades. They say jesus was a carpenter but he was a toolmaker first....

What is the average salary for this career in Wisconsin?
@wctc4 жыл бұрын
$31,000 - $44,000 annually - Our salary range estimates are based on wages for related occupations in Waukesha County as reported by Economic Modeling Specialists International (EMSI). Individual wages may vary based on experience, industry, location and specific job requirements. Hope that helps!

Anthony, going to school and getting into an internship can get you the experience. Check out our offerings. Technical colleges offer two-year programs with internships that can assist you in getting a job. Hope this helps!

Had the worst experience through this school with Carpentry. The Teacher Dan showed favoritism to the students that already knew what they were doing and the ones that didnt. He didnt teach us much. I was stuck on drywall for months and he never let me move from that. I wanted to learn how to hang cabinets, put up walls, make steps, cut around things ect.. But half the class had done previous Carpentry stuff before and half of us didnt know anything but all we wanted was a chance we never got. Half of us complained on the teacher and each time we did. The teacher treated us worse. We would stay after class to get help but he didnt help us. He just sat grading his own stuff. We would complain more and all his boss would say is theres not much they can do but tell him to teach fairly which never happen. It was a waste of our time and money.. Only 1 out of my whole class of 10 students became a carpenter. The rest left to do other things or didnt have the chance to learn like me and became something else. Id like to move out of the trades and go back to WCTC but after having a bad experience I wonder what this school.

The theme of "WCTC changes lives" is a great message and Charles is a great example of this core concept. Good camera work and editing delivered a concise message in under 1:30.

If a new version of this video is made, you might want to consider having the people in the video talk about the IT Web & Software Developer Program specifically. You also might want to consider showing students coding web sites and programs.
