I do not have a start time and end time for my time timeline. It only offers me the total duraction, no manual time entry for start and end time. I cannot figure out where to change this in the settings. I like doing the start and end times. Also, there is no way to really see completed tasks. There is time logging stop and start but all the tasks on the calendar look like open tasks or open issues even if you mark it completed. Also for the Issue list on the right of the calendar, there should be a way to hide completed tasks.

Why not use Jira in place of smartsheet in this case? If you already have a Confluence license then likely already using Jira as well.

I am trying this app out and following along. I LOVE that Jira has live time tracking. I think this function is very under valued! I wanted to say, I like the function of being able to track time and not having to put an issue in that is already in. I just realized the purpose of this. Often times, my staff has to transition between tasks. They are often tasked to work on a project, but they may get interrupted or, management asks them to do something urgent or not pre planned. Then you can add a new issue there, and track the time so that it then gets added to the day. In my line of work (health care), there are a lot of unexpected tasks that we have to do throughout the day. This feature will probably be very useful to us. I also like that it has a start time and and end time. This is a HUGE pet peeve of mine. I have now used 3 other time trackers (Reclaim AI, Jira's native time tracker, and teamboard timeplanner. Out of all of them, I like the clock work because it is inside the Jira boards but I don't like that it doesn't specify a start and end time for manual time ajustments. This time tacker has a start and end time. Often times I forget to start the timer and I need to go back and adjust the start time.

I am downloading the app now. There is a lot of negative feedback about Jira. I honestly don't know enough about Jira one way or the other to know if I like it, or don't like it. I do however like that it has the ability to integrate with a lot of apps. This will be my 3rd time tracking app I am trying. I also think a lot of people don't consider this when looking at a software, Jira and many of the apps that integrate with Jira, offer their services for free up to 10 people. This is a HUGE deal to me as a small business owner!

I love that you are a die hard fan of Jira despite other competitors. I would like to know why you like this software so much over: Asana and clickup. It's difficult to find an actual comparison. Everyone does fake bait videos and it's obvious they have never used the software.

I have watched a few of your videos. I may give this a try. What we specifically need is a list layout like this with sections that act as a relay from one team member to the next. We need to see when I a task has been moved to the next phase...we have several labeled phases and board view isn't helpful for this. We currently use Asana project - section. Do you have a recommendation for how to ser this up?

@visordotus 22 сағат бұрын
Hi! If you need a list layout, Visor also offers a Table view, which lets you list out the projects. We are also adding dependencies this summer, which (I believe) is what you're referring to IRT moving one phase to the next. Visor is free w/o any credit card needed. Let us know how it goes for you!

I am hoping you check your your you tube comments. I came across Jira while looking for a program that integrates with Reclaim ai. I have to say it is clunky, not user friendly but I need something for my small business that doesn't charge per user. I like that it has all the features especially time tracking but I wish you would do a comparison video between clickup, asana and Jira. These 3 system's have free plans. I use both clickup and asana. I only like Asana for 2 features it has that I can't find easily with other program's (I can search the entire program for a task, and I can set up a project as a relay to pass tasks to the next phase to the next person in a list view). I love clickup but it is too cluttered and theres too many hidden areas. Its visually overwhelming. So far I am hoping i can use the free version of Jira for up to 10 people.

Pretty terrible advice "use the field for whatever you want"... in a 10k person company, that is disastrous advice, the things I've seen man... better advice would be "restrict the components to the actual application hierarchy so it sorts naturally", unfortunately I don't think the feature offers a hierarchy of component approach, so it's actually pretty useless and tends to devolve into a flags field as described.

You aren't going to like the direction Atlassian is going then. There is going to be a lot less structure and a whole lot more do whatever you want once they merge Jira Software and Jira Work Management.

@ApetechTechTutorials yeah, think it's time to switch back to Ms projects or just excel... can't really use jira for any projects of significant criticality, I mean Atlassian typical ticket response time is 5 years from what I've seen, so ultimately their bar is very lower on the basics of workforce management.

What do you think is better, separate confluence spaces for each project or link the same space to all projects?

Good Morning Alex, I followed the procedure outlined in your video, the projects were synchronized correctly, but when creating an automation in my Jira project, it was not possible to connect to github. In automation, I am using a branch creation template when moving a card in Jira, the intention is that when the developer moves the task from "pending" to "under development", a branch is automatically created on github. Can you help me ?

These are my views too but people around me keeps on saying to enter scrum master field because apparently it is so easy. They just take meetings and status of work done by the developers, hence no actual work only take the status.

I have watched a few of your videos because you seem to be one of the few people actually showing people how to use Jira and not just doing a bait and click B.S. Fake video. I need to know how to create a relay system in Jira, similar to Asana. I noticed you have other videos of Asana so I am assuming you know what I am talking about. Asana has sections - each section in a project has tasks that can be moved to the next section in a list view. This only works in board view in Jira. We prefer list view because we can see more sections. Sometimes we have 12 steps in a process and each step has to be passed onto the next person...I would really like to get rid of Asana but this particular feature in Asana is the only thing I have found that works for our Insurance auth tracking.

I have watched a few Jira tutorials. I am specifically trying to figure out how to create "sections" (headers) so that I can create a relay system for tasks. A lot of our tasks are done as an assembly line for some of our team. I am interested in Jira because it is more streamlined than Clickup, Linear is too simple, Notion is okay but very complicated to do the build out and may not be what we need. How do I create these sections?!
