Good question! A full tank covers 1,000 to 1,200 sq ft depending on how thick the operator wants to apply it.

My wife & I also have a hydroseeding business here down in New Mexico. We have a hard time finding seed in bulk like in 50lbs bags. Where do you find your seed supply if i may ask?

Hello I have been recently given a trailer with a hydro seeder. I would like to know what I need. Pellets paper mulch? Seeds? I am in the same boat your were in and your video has motivated me to just do it. Any help would be appreciated.

Main ingredients in your tank will be water, hydromulch, seed, and any other amendments (such as tacking agent, fertilizer, etc) We’ll keep producing content for those grist getting into hydroseeding. Good luck on your new venture!

Yes, we started out as a sole proprietorship, but eventually switched to become an LLC. Always talk to your lawyer and tax professional- they will know your situation and make good recommendations🙂

Aside from all the physical pieces of equipment (hydroseeder, hoses, nozzles), you’ll just need the ingredients that go in the tank. Main ones will be water, hydromulch, and seed.

What tackifier would you suggest for hydroseeding?

We recommend using a guar based tacking agent. Highly effective and totally organic. At least 1 lb per thousand sq ft. There are a couple of manufacturers, but we like Profile’s “Con Tack”

Great question! We like to use a pound of tack for every thousand square feet of coverage. You may find yourself using more in an area with slopes.

@@caseywalter11 It comes as a dry powder. It cannot be applied dry, but some will just mix it with plain water and spray over a straw application

Hi Samantha! We have plans for videos discussing the differences between seeds and fertilizers, but nothing published yet. We did make a video with all the steps to mixing hydroseed. If you see result in 1 week is becouse is a really easy and quick variety of grass, which is very pretty bit also really week, so probably you have half of the lawn dead in less than one year.

You’re right! That’s why we recommend only using a small percentage of quick germinating seed (like perennial ryegrass). More than anything it helps the client see that their watering efforts are worthwhile🙂
