Rather than the user created versions, does anyone have the stock specific Marlin config for the Max Neo? One that doesn't kill the screen? My TJC screen only shows the logo and a few numbers when I mod the firmware.

Aweseome video! How did you get your case?

Thanks! And now I have some questions for 3DMakerPro. The case was included in the package for the Moose that they sent me. But now, looking at a few posts by people purchasing the Moose, it seems maybe the case isn't included? I'll reach out them to confirm.

Filament is made in large quantities using an extruder and a water tank. The filament is pulled into the right diameter and then cooled down with the water. The water will get into it and the desiccant wont be enough to dry it. So when the wrap is put on the roll it is still very wet internally. A single spool drybox can achieve sub 10% humidity. I made 4 cereal box dryboxes and I use palygorskite beads used in car desiccant bags (they are really cheap). I just tore the bags open and dumped the desiccant into the cereal box. When I put a new spool into the box I will take the palygorskite and throw it into the oven at some arbitrary temperature above 100 degreen celsius. Today I did 20 minutes at 160 degrees celsius. After that I cooled it for 3 minutes and threw it back into the cereal box while it was still hot it wasn't melting the plastic. Then I threw the filament spool into it on a roller and over about 8 hours the box went from 22% to now sub 10%. When I first opened the roll it was at 34%. So the palygorskite already took out 12% before I dried it. Palygorskite can also be dried using a microwave. Sometimes I do both. I usually print PETG but I got a roll of glow in the dark PLA and it was puffing up so it had to be dried. The PETG becomes weaker if it is print while wet and it also becomes really stringy.

Would this work for filament 3D printers? Resin 3D printers? It seems it should work, maybe the VOC of resin is too much, but the website does not even mention that - maybe because they squarely aim it at their own laser engravers - or because it wouldn't work for printers? Or would it be overkill? Sorry for so many confused questions!

The technology would be the same, filters and activated carbon. LaserPecker is definitely a laser company, so they probably didn't do much testing or market research on the printing side of things. It would be a topic I'd be interested in experimenting with though.

Normally HEPA filters are at a disadvantage for room air filtration, due to their high impedance; but as a flow-through filter directly hosed to the source of pollution that's exactly the right way to use them, and this one seems adequately designed and fit for the task. I don't think i would trust its VOC filtering performance though purely because it's a lot of unknowns and the little pollution meters don't thoroughly detect them, and this is why you should still vent outdoors. There can always be stray unforeseen hazards such as binders and additives in your materials that you end up lasering that are not actually laser-safe.

Those are very good points, thanks for sharing. When researching how to try and quantify air quality, I fell down that rabbit hole of detecting VOCs and found exactly that. You'd need a number of specialty sensors tuned to the narrow range you'd be expecting in order to accurately quantify them. So trusting a single number on a relatively inexpensive sensor might give some information, but not the full picture. I'd love to see folks with more experience in air quality share their perspectives on this kind of filtration.

A steep learning curve means that proficiency is quick; A shallow learning curve means that it takes longer to learn. It's easier to understand with a basic chart. The Y Axis of 0 to 100% denotes expertise; the X Axis denotes time passed. The assumption is that if one can gain proficiency quickly that infers that the subject is not difficult to understand. Time is on the X Axis.

The laser head works fine but the main issue is it's tracking system. You can't complete any big jobs because it is inaccurate! Their customer support want to video chat with you but for most Americans it at 9 or 10pm since they are in China. Worst purchase I have made

Purchased one, Looked used when it arrived, I too could not connect to wifi, The USB sent with it, had the incorrect Config. Information. The Fixed cable from power supply to laser head had a short or bad connection causing the laser head to sometimes not turn on with the power supply. The only thing I asked for was a replacement be sent with an RA number so I would not have down time. Answer was no, So I ordered a different brand while dealing with the return. Not yet a company I want to deal with.

Why it doesn't have any stands? It would help with overheating of surface where it standing. Also, a question - how much time does fan goes when you stop heating from max temp manually? It show if it power shutdown-friendly.

Not sure if this is common but for my unit when I have the filament in as storage (without silica gel) it sits around 15% humidity but when I dry the filament (again with out silica gel) it actually goes up to 23%. Not sure if this is an issue or if this just means I have to dry my filament for a longer period of time.
@HoffmanEngineering
@HoffmanEngineering 17 күн бұрын
That is interesting. Relative humidity changes with temperature. Higher temperatures mean the air can hold onto more moisture, but generally that means the RH should decrease, not increase. I don't know if this units sensor would account for that though.
