Very cool. I've considered buying one of these from time to time. They're usually missing the part that attaches under the tractor for some odd reason. How do you like it overall OP? I'm thinking it would have several advantages over the mid mount mower deck. Looks like it flexes up and down fine, and side to side too? But I'm guessing there's no attachment to the deck lift under the tractor for a front mount implement like this one? Also, how is it on belts? And does it use the same belt a mid mount deck would?
@WildHorsesOfCourseКүн бұрын
@@dkeith45 No tractor attached lift, just the usual deck adjustment lever. The belt is different than the belly deck style belt. It has some advantages like getting under things and mowing some uneven areas better. There are some disadvantages as well. Mostly when you turn the deck travels faster than the tractor so you have move slower when you’re turning and mowing or it will leave uncut grass. Some situations are better and some are worse. I’d say its biggest advantage overall is the ability to get it under things. I wouldn’t recommend using it as a primary mower for most people though.

Hello. I have a 417-A. How does the tiller lift up and down on this model and what powers the unit?
@WildHorsesOfCourse6 ай бұрын
You need a rock shaft kit for the lift. The tiller is belt driven. I have another tiller video on a 312-8 that shows more of how it’s connected and the setup is basically the same.
@flat6fever6805 ай бұрын
@@WildHorsesOfCourse Ok I was wondering. I have hydraulic deck and snow blower and plow lift and several attachments but no rear hydraulics per se so I couldn't see how you were lifting the tiller.

Snow plow or dirt turning plow? The snow plow connects at the same place the snow blower lift does. The dirt turning plow requires a rock shaft kit. You can find the information on Redsquare the wheel horse forum

Looks like an amazing machine for home. Does anybody still make them like this anymore? Other than the John Deere x series.
@killercan10 Жыл бұрын
Not much left. If we are talking everything shaft drive, I think Deere is the only one left, the X700 series. If we go belt drive, the X500 series. There's a Deere 300 series promo from the late 90s on here and they compared them to the 5xi family so Deere 325/335/345. Their current successor is the X500 famliy which are, like those 300s all belt drive but use big K72 transaxles. Cub Cadet stopped making the XT3 series which were the shaft drive transmission big tractors they had (used to be the GTX 2000 line). Simplicity has the Prestige left still which is their equal to the X500 family but unlike Deere, they offer 4WD. Gotta go X700 for 4WD.

@WildHorsesOfCourse Жыл бұрын
I’m not sure what if any connection exists. There isn’t much information to be found about Garden-All. This is from Lane Ralph on the wheel horse forum site: Frank Bethge invented the Garden-All tractor at his Central Motor Company at 110 West Union Street in Liberty, Union County, Indiana. Production began July 4, 1945 with 10 men employed. Twenty-five to thirty-five tractors were being made weekly and it was indicated that soon the quantities would reach 75 to 100 units per week. By spring of 1947 the goal was they would be producing 600 units weekly. At that period in time two size of tractors were built, a 13/4 horse power and a 3 horse power. The Clinton, Wisconsin and Briggs engines were being used. Soon after the start of the manufacturing of the tractor, Glenn Heilman and D. S. Weaver took over the ownership and management of the Garden-All Company. One photograph available showed Paul Dixon, J. Hugh Smith and Zack Turner finishing the assembly of a four wheel riding tractor. Hugh Morgan, at one time collector of Garden-All products, worked for the Company for a short time in 1949. By 1947 production had increased to the point expansion was necessary and land was purchased on West Union to West Seminary Street in Liberty.
