Howsit Ruan, I'm looking at getting this bike, what is your opinion on the Manitou Marhor fork? vs something like the Rockshox Judy? would you say they are on par with each other when it comes to durability and reliability or do you think one is better than the other?
@RuanvanderLinde
@RuanvanderLinde 20 сағат бұрын
Hi Cameron. Im not on the platform as much as I used to be. My honest opinion. Manitou has a great product. But man, the rock shocks have been proven to be one of our most durable shocks. If you pair them woth a set of skf seals you have a bombproof setup. Hope this helps. But dont shy away from manitou.

4 layers of tape? A lot heavier that it needs to be and more complicated. Just do yourself a favor and get some generic polypropylene strapping tape (Tessa 4289 equivalent) or polyester strapping tape (3M 8898 equivalent). Buy these in a similar width to one's rim internal width.

Seat post clamp, is not from China, the internal cable holes need to be perfect or they ditch the frame. But ty, ty for this video

Actually, many of these frames were likely made in the same frame factory in China. The frames sold to Pinarello in Italy have the serial numbers on them. Even though it says “Made in Italy,” it really means the rest of the bike was simply assembled in Italy. The Pinarello frames were not made in Italy. The other frames made in the factory can be made with whatever bottom bracket you want. They were selling that frame naked, but it was still a real Pinarello frame. At the time, you could get one for around $500 US. Installing your own groupset and other higher end components would actually make for a very nice bike. The imposter you have does have quality control issues and I think the plastic guide covers for the internal cables are missing, which covers the defects you have shown, but there are some that are perfect and without any of the issues. The other thing about the fork tube clearance, each bike had a matched fork tube. If you replaced the one, it was not then still matched to the frame. Like you said, there is a serial number on the fork tube.

Hi Ruan. What volume of oil did you add in each side of that fork?
@RuanvanderLinde

Hi. Thanks for the question. If you go onto google. Type fox/rock shock ... oil bath volumes. You will get a chart where you choose your fork or the closest to it. And it will give you the volume as well as the weight oil to be used

@RuanvanderLinde 2 жыл бұрын
Hi. No. You can use it multiple times. I'd say change it when you replace the chain. And keep the old one for emergencies. It does wear. But you can use it over and over when removing the chain to clean it

Ive used old power links hundreds of times. The new pin is one time use. If you push that out with you chain tool its gone. Obviously you dont want to take the link off every day. But mine came off 2 times a week, untill the chain is gone. And sometimes used on new chains(not recommended) but worked like a charm. Also used old ones in emergencies and then never took them off to replace with new one.
