I realize that this video was made in the early months of the pandemic and we didn't know a lot about masks, nor did the authorities want to find out. But now we do. So. Do NOT use wipes on masks--i.e., surgical masks, not cloth coverings--or respirators. It's not so much the outer surfaces that do the filtering, it's the innards. Getting them wet or dirty are the quickest ways to render them ineffective. Dump them when they do; it's much cheaper than getting sick with long COVID. Also, the CDC has found through testing that disposable respirators lose fit after 5 donnings, so the risks increase the more you reuse them. And we still have no documented case of a transmission via contaminated surfaces. Wash your hands because they carry other germs, not because of COVID. Stay safe.

Yes, I throw them away now once I use them, love these for work because they don't touch my lips, create a good seal as well as improved filtration - I buy them by the case now, they are available as a case of 40 for $60 now at www.youravon.com/dorisabbott, just search for Airwasher, or mask and they should appear. I agree that wiping them with a wipe is not effective, still much that we didn't know at the beginning. I also agree with washing hands, even if not for COVID, for everything else that we come into contact with daily. I am always asking the students that I work with did they wash their hands. Handwashing is something that is always good to keep in mind.

@@asssa1641 Yes, there are the Airwasher masks - I like these for work. You can purchase from www.youravon.com/dorisabbott if you are in the United States, you will need to search for mask, or airwasher or KF94 and they should appear.
