Many thanks for this video, Steve. Really well done and super helpful. :cheers:

Thankyou for this video. AF1 is a real lifeline in the USA. I dropped the windscreen screw threaded grommet, more like I pushed it out while installing a tour screen. Unfortunately the tour screen didn’t have the correct screws and spacers. So, back to square one. 😢

The sound is not appealing, quite annoying really, but as an EV car owner, it has the best torque of any motor and the regen is awesome.

I have the 2020/21 Vespa GTS300 and my Mrs is getting a Vespa GTS125 next month! I love it as it comes as standard! It has plenty and I would keep losing the wife if I tweaked the performance! We bought them to Tour Britain, not to race around! I just cannot get my head around; why people want to get an extra 5mph or 2 Horse Power more out of a Scooter? Why make something that is reliable, unreliable???

It's actually 2018 vs 2019 HPE. Only US market received both models a year later than rest of the world. Someone quoted the main reason being lengthy US regulations and compliance checks Piaggio has to go thru every time a new model or an upgrade is announced. You guys are also the only country that requires those unsightly cat eyes bolted to both front fender and back of he cowls.

Just bought one. Looks awesome and the quality looks great. It was an easy install, just do what the man says. After a short ride in some light rain it seems to shed 90% of the water compared to without. Overall I'm very pleased.

*The real question is "Can they both maintain 70mph at the same rate of fuel usage?"*( *That 'Lime-Aid Green' is HIDEOUS!* *I wonder what happened to the 'Bavarian Green' that was available...now that was 'choice' and very appropriate to a 'Vespa'* ) *No 'front & rear folding-racks?' No 'Fly-screen' either? That's just depressing*
@fingerhorn43 жыл бұрын
Agreed. It's not just Vespa, but most M/C manufacturers nowadays demonstrate total color-taste fails in their effort to be "on-message". You cannot beat plain primary colors. If it isn't ghastly lime green then its smoke grey. It's a failure of imagination and desperation to look "trendy". Agree also about total lack of screen and racks. Vespa are beginning to look very greedy. Unfortunately people with more money than sense are willing to pay up. The HPE has different gearing and a limiter which explains the differences.

@@fingerhorn4 *Piaggio lost their market-share to Honda by '64 and never really tried to regain it* ( Typical Italian...to give a dismissive 'hand-flap' to their losses and just ignore it) *Then came a rebound from nostalgia and modern engineering to keep the 'Marque' alive and competitive, and then proceed to allow the 'bean-counters' to 'run the show'* *THE PAINT!* *Who is choosing these ugly-ass colors?* *And why can they never learn to apply paint to steel properly?* *The machine starts to rust if you so much as 'sneeze at it' and that pisses people off, especially Americans who are used to Japanese quality-control that actually works* ( Only 'outside' Hondas forced to endure years of complete neglect finally get 'cancer') *'Vespa' is in a class by itself, and yet customers are treated like 'idiots w/money' that exist to be exploited for every tiny 'widget' and 'whatsit' and every accessory that should be 'standard' on a high-end machine has to be bought separately at a 'gouging mark-up' that's imported from some other Galaxy* (Is it really smart to 'bite the hand that feeds you' like Piaggio does?) *That's the same 'production & sales' ethos that destroyed American Motors...the refusal by 'big-wigs' to say 'We have to offer more and better for the same price, or face losing everything'* ( 'Vespa' needs to follow 'BMW' where they would 'recommend a tune-up after the first MILLION KILOMETERS' for an 'R-65' to 'insure proper function')

I've heard that the 2020 has a lower top speed than the 2019. Something to do with the rpm limiter. Do you know if this is true?
@ardav9514 жыл бұрын
Joseph Messier yes it is. Apparently not rev limiter but true speed limiter. Look at this: modernvespa.com/forum/topic165294.2

You could easily get the acceleration difference sorted on the ‘old ‘ model against the ‘new’ model by a change of air filter, belt, and rollers. Yes, new headlight I like, the different horn casting yes. New engine casing mmmm nah, it’s fine as it was. Just different now not better. The different headset top yes I like. But as to anymore electronic gizmos. No in my opinion. Personally i never rid with asr on. Just a few psi difference on the tyre pressure and it kicks in when not needed. I’ve had some super serious fast motorcycles, them you had to respect even in 3rd gear but this. It would take some stupid rider to get into difficulty even on full throttle from the off. It’s my second Vespa gts and I can say the abs, as never kicked in for me but I believe the brakes are better than the first model. Is there enough change to warrant an upgrade?? Not for me personally but I do like the few visual upgrades I’ve mentioned. Ps I’ve been riding bikes and scooters since 1976 and I’m 60 now. I think I have enough experience to give my opinion but it’s only my humble opinion xx

3Hp more Power ...7nm more Torque ..better Tyres better Led Front and Backlights ....Inspection cycle goes up from.every 5000km to 10000 ....The Engine is completely New ....an u Tell thats no Difference ? 😂😂😂
@joycarroll5685 жыл бұрын
When you come from an history of motorcycles 3hp is very small and could quite easily be lost with the weight differences of riders. The torque figure differences likewise, in the real world it amounts to very little. As to led lighting, there’s kits out there. I assume your the owner of the new model? That’s great. All new owners of the Vespa gts for whatever reasons are welcome aboard. We are after all brothers and sisters with a common interest. I was merely saying the bits that personally didn’t warrant a change up ‘in my opinion ‘ I’m 60 now as I said . And do have some experience, maybe when younger I might have got caught up in barroom bragging but not now. Anyway it’s always nice to hear others views just try to keep it polite. I’m not 100% sure laughing mojos are or aren’t? My age again I guess. God bless all out there xx
