Hey Luocia, do you think the PTDI course by itself is sufficient to pass the PCE? Do you think consulting other sources is necessary? Thanks for the great video. Currently set to take it in 4 weeks! Hoping to pass first try

Hi, I wanted to ask if there is research opportunities at Western through MPT
@luociaКүн бұрын
@@David-wp4ec Hi David, there is a small research project that we do in the program. However, if you are really interested in research, Western also has a combined MPT/PhD program where you graduate with both degrees after 5 years.

I'm planning to attend UWO for PT. For placement, do you need a car for traveling if it wasn't in London?
@luociaАй бұрын
Hi Anne, you don't need a car but it would be nice to have! I didn't have a car and had my out of london placements in Kitchener-Waterloo and Windsor. I moved there and had to pay double rent. The school gives you $500 to help with out of London placements but that still doesn't completely cover the extra cost. There were placements in Exeter or Woodstock which were ~45 min drive away, which would be good to apply to if you had a car! Those were really competitive though among a lot of my classmates who did have cars

hi ! are you a student ? wondering if canadian PT school include wound care in the curriculum ? I am a PT wound specialist myself in the UsA and just curious if we have the same specialty paths …
@luocia6 ай бұрын
Hello, I just recently graduated a couple months ago. I can't speak on behalf of all Canadian PT programs but at the University of Western Ontario, wound care was very briefly covered (like one lecture). There are specialized wound care physiotherapists in Canada, but I believe they would get additional training for it after PT school.

Can I get admission in physiotherapy assistant course even if I was not having maths in high school as an international student?
@luocia Жыл бұрын
Hello, I'm not sure about the requirements for PTA schools but check the diff school's websites, it may vary school to school. For example, for Fanshawe, the college near Western, requires grade 11 or 12 math as a requirement www.fanshawec.ca/programs/opa1-occupational-therapist-assistant-and-physiotherapist-assistant/next#admission-requirements

Hi Luocia, thanks for sharing! Does ORPAS automatically calculate GPA when I send in my official transcript? How did you manually calculate yours? I looked at the conversion chart and everything but I didn't take 5 classes a semester so I think my calculation is a bit off.
@luocia Жыл бұрын
Hi Tina, I'm so sorry for replying late, but yes ORPAS automatically calculates your GPA. It's based on your last 20 half credits, and if they have to go into your second year, then they would take the average GPA of that entire year and weight it by however credits it's suppose to fill in. This website (www.physicaltherapy.utoronto.ca/academic-requirements) explains it in more detail under the SubGPA heading!

Hi Arslan, yes you can, as long as you have taken the prerequisite courses. Each university has their own required prerequisite courses, which you can see on their website. Common ones would be anatomy, biology, physiology.
