Apparently it's from a TV series, Gruth is Uachdar (Crowdie and Cream), www.imdb.com/title/tt1202082/ I discovered this after they sang it at the Culloden commemoration this year.

Duncan was my uncle and my last living relative (at that time) from my fathers side of the family. Surprise to see my mother on the stand as well - she would have been 88 at the time. Duncan had a very interesting life and knew a lot of equally interesting people including the Queen Mother.

This seems to be from some kind of movie/documentary or other. Very interesting and moving. What's the history of this? I think that the orchestra joining in may have raised a few eyebrows but it's very effective.
