The name of this lift model is X-14, this is a special elevator model designed to replace old lifts so all the available space of the existing shaft is used. It is a cantilever type and makes the most of the space by aligning car and counterweight guides to fit the counterweight between the cabin guides, being the pull of the ropes at the top of the car chassis. It also uses a especial speed governor type designed by Orona with a reduced diameter pulley (80mm) and 5mm coated steel rope, whose pit tension weight is simply just a vertical steel plate with a yellow colored steel pulley, the whole set attached to the pit counterweight protection sheet, but letting it to slide up and down as the steel rope elongates over time. This weight and pulley can be seen on minute 1:03 (in the more modern version of this model of elevator the steel pulley has been replaced by a basculant white colored nylon one). There´s also a machine room version of this one named X-24, the shaft distribution is the same, it only adds a separated traction machine bench that rests on the machine room floor, and which also includes a support for the speed governor included on the same bench so its all in one.

It is one of the hottest places among elevator enthusiasts in Korea. I heard that the OTIS model installed in that apartment now has the most options among all the OTIS models installed in apartments in Korea. The next place with the most options is Raemian Seocho Univill, built by SAMSUNG C&T located in Seoul. Get off at Nambu Bus Terminal Station on Line 3 and go out to Exit 3 and 4.
