Looking to see if you could do 9-12k postcards for me a month for my real estate business, what’s the best way to get in touch with you. I’ve called the number on your website but I’ve missed you a couple times

Hahah try cutting cards with color borders can be quite challenging. Best of luck with that! In my experience, Uchida handles glossy materials much better, especially with their suction mechanism.

Great work man! Curious question...after this video, did you happen to install in-line filters or a flow regulator? Thank you so much! Working on getting the compressor situated for the new shop we're building, but this part has been the most confusing to me.

I thought plastic (Coro) can’t be cut with laser
@smalltowninkАй бұрын
I used to think that as well. Very important not to cut PVC, but coroplast is fine.
@miketheprintmanАй бұрын
Shop cat is getting big now. As always, thanks for the sharing the day to day of the shop. Looks like you got that coroplast cut out workflow on point now with the laser.

My question what settings are you using to cut coroplast. Feed speed and power. Also how powerfull is your laser

I have a 130w and cut at 40mm/s and 45% power.

I’d love to know how you prep your windows for perf install? We are having lots of issues with perf peeling from the bottom corners.
@smalltowninkАй бұрын
So I didn’t get a chance to explain it in this video, but we are actually testing torching the window with a blow torch to remove anti fog properties which helps with adhesion. Also, it if very important to remove direct with alcohol from the window but also at the base of the window as static from the laminate tends to attract dust and once a little dust gets in there, it will surely peel.
@leonardo29098Ай бұрын
For perf on windows I would suggest 6mm permanent double sided tape on cheap materials. Or buy a expensive per and outgass for 24 hours minimum. Also use only cast lamination. Arlon, avery , 3m or orafol. Just make sure it's cast lam. I found that if the ac is inside you need the double sided tape to help. If not tape then a high quality silicone. Tape and silicone prep
@smalltowninkАй бұрын
@@matthewphillips263 also, when you laminate, don’t use heat! It causes bad curling.

I don't know if there's any cheat sheet for flexi alignments, but you are able to change a lot of the hotkeys yourself so that might be why. I've got it all set on the defaults and just about memorized them all by now, but a cheat sheet would be sweet!
@smalltowninkАй бұрын
Good to know that you can program your own hot keys! I did find a listing of Flexi short cuts on their site: support.thinksai.com/hc/en-us/articles/26043863710740-List-of-Default-Keyboard-Shortcuts-in-Flexi-Complete

Check into Reolink cameras. We have all our machines on camera. Between that and team viewer, it makes life so much easier. The Reolink cameras are dirt cheap if you get the POE wired kit
@smalltowninkАй бұрын
I will take a look into that for sure. I do have a Lorex system already and a couple of more spots to add cameras. I might start with that. Glad to know I'm not the only one with this idea though!

Always love seeing the shop in motion, John. I would recommend on a sign like the "Mike Alicia" one, to trim out the background white a bit more so you don't waste so much ink. Looks like the artboard was a square instead of the shape of the sign. Awesome work all week, as always.
@smalltowninkАй бұрын
Absolutely good point! Normally what I do is I select an option for "valid pixel only" instead of "entire print area", but I forgot on this instance. The good news is my White ink usually expires before I use it all!

Do you still use the vinyl application table with the laminator roller that you built? Curious to see how it is holding up as we just started building our own. Thanks for your channel!

The only reason I don't is because of the flatbed printer. We almost exclusively print directly to substrates now.

How do you like your workhorse? We got one recently and I find with a single flashback multicolor jobs still take way too long. Two flash dryers seem a must for efficiency. Somehow I imagined multi color jobs to be way faster than they are in reality.

I love Substance vinyl especially 440/444 LSE mainly for floor graphics. Have you had any luck before with it for textured walls? I can only assume there will be some bridging, or pullback, due to it being a calendar and not cast vinyl.

It works quite well on textured walls. The bridging isn’t as bad as you would think. Even the Arlon high tack has some pull back to it.
