Really enjoy my lunch time sailing to Arran and back but always use the Caledonian Isles which has better outdoor seating.

One thing that really impresses me with Calmac ships is that they do keep them nice and clean. Not many rust stains at all!

The brown BS1 is a replica of the tram originally build the private Brändö Spårväg / Kulosaaren Raitiotie. The company owned 2 such motor tram built by ASEA in Sweden. The design was based on the motor trams of Lidingöbanan.

I'm actually surprised that you managed to film her at Ardrossan. High winds over that fortnight and her complete lack of manoeuvrability meant that she more commonly went to Gourock instead.

Update: She escaped any idea of the Breakers and after nearly four years of idleness up at Rosneath Jetty on the Gare Loch , she came under the ownership of Pentland Ferries Ltd , finally leaving the Clyde on April 25th 2015 for her new life in the north at Stromness.

MV Isle of Arran was purpose-built for the Brodick landings but , for some reason , after nine years , Calmac decided that she didn't do a great job. With MV Saturn , probably on her last year in service in 2011 , I wait in anticipation to see what ship they will roster on the 'summer freight supplimentary' vessel in 2012.

The Calmac vehicle ferry to Dunoon has now finished due to a tendering process. MV Saturn , when leaving both Gourock and Dunoon on her last ever return trip on the 29th of June 2011 , mournfully sounded her horn three times at each port. A large crowd turned out to see her leaving Dunoon for the last time. All drivers will now have to take the Western Ferries vessels for the crossing from the 30th of June 2011.
