mine was just like this but had a weird semi blue plastic-like lens, I cleaned it with alcohol and the plastic went cloudy and white and I ruined it, be careful if you do something similar.

Yikes, thats too bad, thanks for sharing that. Sounds like maybe a cheaper grade of lens? I use a small bit of 70% isopropyl on my optics for cleaning and it works well.
@raico68902 жыл бұрын
@@cliffont Yeah, it was a cheap monocular, my father bought it years ago and didn't used it because it didn't magnify anything, I was trying to fix it by removing a broken piece of plastic in the prism that was blocking the view, and while I cleaned it that happened, so its not a big loss. I just wanted to warn other people that might try the same thing. Have a nice day man!.

Was gonna say that wasn't a Specwell, but saw the prism. that looks weird. being legally blind, I've had quite a few of their monoculars, and would never change.

Interesting, the Specwell brand appears to be well made stuff after looking it up. Thanks for your reply

I have a 7x18, internals look identical, took it apart to clean it up a bit bc i intended to gift it, & now im only getting half the image when looking through the eyepiece fully assembled. Any advice? Ive tried reorienting it inside (spinning it basically) & it doesnt solve the problem. Im not sure what to do. It was 100% fine before :\

That's too bad your monocular isn't working after taking it apart, unfortunately I don't have any useful information for you as I'm definitely no expert on Optics. What I would probably do if I was in the same situation is try to gently take it apart and put it back together in hopes of getting it back in working order. After more experimenting with mine I noticed the mechanism is pretty sensitive when you move the objective lens the slightest. Good luck, I hope your able to get your monocular back in working order.

@@cliffont thanks for the reply & trying to help, i really appreciate it. Im not an expert on optics either, light instruments with like prisms & holograms really confuse me, but after trying everything i tested & found that the reflector was reacting with the alcohol i wiped the lenses with. Most mirrors are silver or aluminum so i did not expect this to occur but yeah, its kinda ruined now. Luckily i didnt spend lots of money on it or anything, it was something i found at a garage sale. Sad to see it lost tho, thought it was gonna be a good gift for my friend who likes stargazing but doesnt own any telescopes or binoculars or anything. Perfect size to be able to see better & not be burdened... Anyway thanks again

Bu zibidiyi 2015 aliexpress ten 3$'a almıştım, sonrasında Amazon'un celestron upclose 10*25 Bak-7 mono! Ve sonraları dahada büyüdük, nakliye çok uygundu ve de gümrük ithalat ücretleri yoktu! Türkiye'den 1/4 fiyatına mal etmistim! Hey gidi güzel günler. Teşekkürler video için...

If you decide to get anymore optic's you should consider BaK-4 over BK-7. BaK-4 glass offers better visuals than BK-7 glass. Thanks for the comment

Do you ever still use this grinder? Any difference in flavor between this and the electric grinder?
@cliffont2 жыл бұрын
It has became a fancy paperweight since I bought the electric grinder. I honestly can't tell any difference in the coffee from using the manual grinder or the electric. The electric grinder is much preferred as it holds more coffee and takes literally seconds to grind. The manual grinder is more of a workout and takes like 5 minutes to grind about 20 grams of beans. I prefer the electric grinder more for everyday use but the manual grinder has more "cool" factor.

Hey again, I don't have a 10 x 25 monocular to take apart but I can assure you if you are referring to a Roof Prism 10 x 25 Monocular it will be very similar to the 8 x 21 monocular in this video. The only reason I decided to take this one apart was because it was defective from when I received it. All of my other optics are in good working order fortunately so I would never take them apart. Thanks for watching!

Is it good? And have a powerful magnification?
@cliffont4 жыл бұрын
Given the state and quality of the one i received i wouldn't say its good. Other than the problematic defects this monocular also has a strong rubber smell to it which isn't very pleasant. The magnification isn't bad, especially for the size of the monocular.

@@cliffont can u see the craters on the moon?
@cliffont4 жыл бұрын
@@josephemmanueladriano7413 Probably if its a clear night and you can kind of see the craters even without magnification as in that case the monocular would only magnify it by 8 times. If your in the market for a monocular i would recommend skipping this monocular in my video and getting atleast something like the Bijia 10x32. I got my Bijia 10x32 on ebay i think for alittle over 25 Canadian dollars and it is excellent quality for the price.
