A fine build but I would never add figures-it detracts from the scaled down realism and prevents one from imagining oneself seated in the vehicle. I recall riding these when I resided in SF from 1964-1983 myself.

It's a super 1/24 scale model. As it's a tram you need to add the trolley pole and standard on the top deck to complete it though.

Always interesting to see how different people have done the planking, as the instructions are a bit vague. I have had a number of models from Mantua and apart from a shortage of 'rope' they have all been complete.

I've not made mine yet; I hope it turns out as well as yours. I have a motor bogie for it. I recognise the generic passenger figures, as I have them for all my 1/24 trams and buses. Except for this one: I have a set of, shall we politely say, well-fed people.

The manufacturer is Artesania Latina. The kit reference number is 504 and it is in 1:50 scale. They still make a King of the Mississippi but is in 1:80 scale and detailed with many photoetched parts instead of wood. This 1:50 kit is my favorite - I built one back in the 80's and was fortunate enough to find an un-opened kit from 1985 recently. Looking forward to building it again. The craftsmanship on your model is excellent... Only in a museum have I seen such a well preserved example as yours. Thank you for sharing.

Hoi David. Thank you for your information. Now I know the manufacturer. I always like models all made from all kind of woods. Not the models which have to be painted. Now I am building the Pilar from Constructo. Also to build without painting. The under body originally white painted I let them wood.

@@jaccoolen4509 A beautiful vessel the pilar ! If only to have enjoyed a Scotch and Soda on her decks with Mr. Hemingway ! I had hoped to see her person in 2019... and even reserved a trip. but then Cuba restricted US tourism and I was unable to go. I wish you well with your build and am sure she will be beautiful in natural form. I also prefer to see woods beauty rather than covered with paint. Please post as I have subscribed to your channel and would like to see your progress.
