I actually have tried to use Magix Movie Studio 2024. To be honest, I have had such a difficult time using it. It’s not even close to Vegas Movie Studio. It has been such a a problem. I’m probably going to stick with Movie Studio HD 11. Maybe, I’ll move over to Vegas Pro with the subscription.

While this is a great solution, I recently updated to Windows 11 and doing so broke all of my existing texts in a nearly hour long video. I didn't want to replace all of those texts with legacy texts. In short, I found a reddit post. Make sure Movie Studio 16 is closed -> Open your fonts folder -> Find the font you want -> Copy and paste it to your desktop -> Reinstall it (even though you may already have it installed.) -> Reopen Movie studio. This fixed all of the existing texts I had Credit to www.reddit.com/r/VegasPro/comments/lpao5n/custom_fonts_not_working_heres_how_to_fix_it/

I've known the program since it existed ... It started well but unfortunately for a short time ... I've been using it for 20 years, which I still regret to this day ... Guys, don't waste your time and nerves with this program !!! Aim for unwrapping programs like Davinci or Adobe ... At the moment I have a fairly powerful machine with a RTX 4080 card, this machine can't peel with 2>3>4 tracks of video 4k And for the grater, you'll just wait for hours from the support will always tell you the same weak hardware ... You are just wasting your time with this program ... We should not pay for this program when we use it, and the developers should pay for the use of this misunderstanding ...!

Is there better support for exporting videos in 8K though? I'm using an older version that allows me to edit in 8K but not export into 8K. Getting better 8K support would give me a pretty good reason to upgrade to this version.

@@TechDiveAVCLUB I see. You could reload the EQd wave and then lower the lows and low mids on it and turn up the master, but unless that brought it all back, but I think the new Vegas may have the background recognition and minimizing it, otherwise, you always have Audacity

I hope to get Vegas back someday after I get a better computer right now I have a entry level computer. Been using movie studio/Vegas pro for 10 years before I moved to CapCut PC for Star Wars edits. And the the for the speech to text abd speech to text now there is a limit now unlike in vegas 21 which is the last version i used 3 years ago.

Bought it today. Specifically for the text editing. What a load of crap so far. Standard for Vegas sadly. Not like I don't use it every day fro the past 20 years but always palming off with new stuff that just doesn't work. It's so cynical. Blackmagic stuff just works even in Beta, what's the problem Magix? Why do you do it EVERY year? It's taking about 20 times the time that Resolve does to transcribe text and then when trying to select anything in the text based editing page I literally have time to make a coffee before the cursor catches up. You have to click one word, then use the shift key to select the end word and the usual 'not responding' messages and crashes. It's just typical and rubbish as a release. Save your money folks.

I have used Vegas since it was Sony Vegas Movie Studio! I moved over to Vegas Pro 17, then 18 and 20 mainly because it seemed to be the only editing software that does not charge outrageous monthly subscriptions to use it. I bought it and I use it. I began video editing just over 3 years ago and am a small KZbin content creator. I have to say that since I moved on to Vegas Pro from Movie Studio, the software is pretty dreadful! It constantly crashes or stops working and I have to use Task Manager to close it and re-load the programme. I have an i9-9900 CPU, 64GB system RAM, an NVidia GeForce 2080Ti video card, a 2TB SSD and Windows 10 all up to date - and Vegas still crashes regularly. I can get around it somewhat by using CCleaner to do a disk clean up and then trim the C: drive using the Windows Defrag utility - but usually Vegas stops working somewhere along the line. The current Vegas Pro 20 seems to have removed any option to lower or raise the volume on an audio track now too. Was thinking of going back to Vegas pro 18! But I persevere. I moved up from Vegas 17 to 18 and onto 29 hoping that it would improve - but I still have issues with it. However, it is the only software out there of a "professional" nature that is relatively easy to use and does not require a subscription every month. So I am really sorry but I have to largely disagree with you. I keep getting offers to move up to Vegas Pro 22 - but would it really be any better? I'm not confident about it. Thanks for listening. I used vegas for the first 10 years of my career and then had to quit because the features were just not there. Calling it the swiss army knife for a 1 man band is a stretch though lol - It can handle handle most things you will need I agree, but so can any of the big competitors. If editing is a hobby to you, vegas will be the easiest software to learn by far. The Pan and Crop UI and other things are amazing. It is intuitive and a one time purchase. Davinci free version is probably better but its more difficult to learn. But you will also have 100x more creators creating content that will explain everything you need to know compared to just a few sony vegas educators. If you want to try vegas, get one of those charity bundles and get a previous version and upgrade from there if they earned it. The developers pretty much ignoring the community for so many years was difficult, I quit the software a few years ago because you could not even export reels in 4k lol, I hope things are better now. Thanks for the video and the insights!

Can I ask a question. I know you video is in 1080p, but for some reason, your bitrate of your video is still to low that even the text of Vegas Pro isn't very clear right down to the pixel. You may want to render your videos in even higher bitrate to compensate for KZbin compression.
@TechDiveAVCLUB
@TechDiveAVCLUB 27 күн бұрын
If you watch it at 1080p it's crisp. It was captured at 1080p with only a slight crop in. It was uploaded as h.264 so KZbin didn't have to apply any further compression to the HD version.
@Grid21
@Grid21 27 күн бұрын
@@TechDiveAVCLUB I also think probably your OBS Recording settings are incorrect as well, so that adds to the bad quality look by the time it hits KZbin. I would suggest using CQP at 16 or 20 quality setting, and then rendering out at HVEC with a 24Mbps video which will look a LOT MORE SHARP. (Side note, I've been doing this for 15 plus years, so I have a lot of experience this field as well.) Hope that helps with your future videos. :)

If you'd like to create a super-simple split screen by PUSHING the current video off to the left/right/top/bottom, as used a lot in Oceans 11, you can do so by using the Push transition like so: - add two videos to the SAME video track - overlap the videos for the desired length of the split screen - add the Push transition to the overlap section to change it from a fade to a Push - add a black border in the Transition properties box that shows up, if desired, using Size setting to create the width desired - close the Transition properties box - right-click anywhere in the overlapped section on the video track and select Insert/Remove Envelope --> Transition Progress from the right-click menu - right-click on the transition progress curve that now is displayed on the overlapped section and select Add Point -- you'll need 2points added: one at the end of the Push on and one near where you want the 2nd clip to end - right-click on the 1st & 2nd added points to select Set to 50% Transition Progress -- if you want the 2nd video clip to be pushed back off at the end, add a third point at the end of the transition and set its value to 0 -- if you want both videos to end while still split screened, just move the 2nd added point to the very end of the transition (add trim the 2nd video clip to end there, too) - move the transition points left or right to suit your timing; just make sure they are set at exactly 50% once you're done moving them! As long as your video clips always end up pushing each other off completely after pausing for the split screen action, you can continue this on just one video track indefinitely. The push can be up/down/left/right, changing for each transition, if you like. And it's not just the Push transition. You can animate the progress of any of them. I have no idea if there's an easy way to make quad or whatever split screens, but it would certainly require more than just one video track like this. This technique is just a super easy way to make a simple split screen. I did this in Vegas Pro 19, but it likely works for quite a few older versions, too. I'm not sure when they added the ability to key frame the transitions, but it seems like a pretty old feature.
