Naxos was called so because of Naxios, a Carian King. The Carians are a people of southwestern Anatolia, reported since the 7th century BC. and populating Caria. According to Herodotus, reporting an indigenous tradition, they owe their name to an eponymous hero, Car. It was always Called Dyonisis by the Greek. The Carians came only in the 7th century BC. Naxos has an history long until 6.000BC. Yes, 6.000 BC. Naxos owes part of its fame to mythology: Theseus abandoned Ariadne there, who was taken in by Dionysus, tutelary divinity of the island. Naxos was first called Dionysia, because Dionysus received hospitality there and because it is more fertile in vines than the other islands. The Naxian city (an adjective associated with the name Naxos when it comes to ancient times) was powerful in the archaic era and prosperous during the Byzantine Empire. It was the center of the Duchy of Naxos, the last Latin state to resist the Ottoman advance.

I lived since birth (1958) in Aberporth until 16, after that I’ve been back for work and class reunions. It looks just the same, well a few changes. Great footage.

Best hospitality very reasonable prices still. Most popular destinations are pricey.. Still one of the best destinations where you get the best value for your dollar.

It's a big mistake to let these people into your village. They will introduce diseases to your crops and viruses to the local population;- and they will be the first to come back to "HELP" with their own food-Aid that you have to buy at a cost they tell you to. Africa should wisen up to the crocodile smiles of white people. These people are no good, take note of how the man has so much interest in all the crops that growing around.
