Man I wish the sea and cake still toured. I missed them several times living in Chicagoland. I swear someone in charge of booking made sure I had major plans before booking them haha. Favorite band of my lifetime.

As an ancient 73-year-old, this fits into my aural psyche alongside the likes of Philip Glass, Terry Riley, Robert Fripp, and a few others. And, I DIG IT big time. For such a young band, it's mindblowing to imagine where they'll grow next. Very exciting stuff. Very advanced. Sophisticated.

What genre is this? I can't find a melody but rather everything is kind of going at once. There's not one break, just constant walls of sound. Not unpleasant... Just a bit jarring. I will say this style is quite hypnotizing in its own way. Not something I'd leave on in the background but it is interesting to analyze and watch. Their timing is very good.

This is great but the snare & rimshots in Fantasize seem to me too staccato an element it would perhaps work better with a frame drum, udu, tabla, etc percussion element, think it would be worth experimenting. Other percussion works well especially brushes in Story.

terrific melodies, great arrangements and what a stunning singing voice, somewhere between Nico, Diamanda Galas, Nina Simone (if she sang Scott Walker tunes slightly below her register). its quite shocking to hear a voice so hauntingly powerful arriving from a singer whose shyness and interiority reminds one of Beth Gibbons of Portishead.

Neat, their guitarist took off the tone and volume control knobs in addition to the fret stuff. I'd love to see a diagram of his fret positioning to get myself a better handle on just intonation.

Saw them live in Chicago. New Years Eve 2010, I think. It was an absolute dream come true. I'm quite sure that I annoyed the lot of them during their breaks. They: sober as judges. Me: Drunken idiot on cloud 9. Archer's solo albums are also superb.

@@zorbanongreco it sounds like shit. i could train my lungs to have that kind of capacity, and i still wouldn't choose to play this racket. it is a creative decision, which you are too dumb to understand. i recognize the skill, but the music sucks. they're so busy showing off that the music suffers - and they probably couldn't actually write a melody because they seem more like technicians than musicians
