there is a lot of cross winds coming across the Acrotiri also early morning flights are effected with the mist

No it isnt. But its the biggest bird that can land/take off there.

You dont see many of those in Skiathos..you see mainly B737or A320s..

Jirka Čumpelík Well I see less and less B757S in Europe or Asia..more of them in the US..there is a problem in Skiathos with the length of runway and the limitation of Fuel supply at Skaithos airport..meaning a refuel stop enroute and usually the B737 and A320..

Kind of missing the critical bit - the very short stop and everyone lurching forward in their seats as the pilot puts full reverse thrusters and every ounce of breaking force available into not heading into the sea at the other end of the runway... I love landing at Skiathos. Shame the island isn't like it used to be...

avoid late summer, we went in the middle of September and had rain half of days and much cooler temps.

I went in June 2018. Poured with rain 2 days. Max temp 20°c one of those days. The jet stream had buckled and sent fluke bad weather all the way down the Aegean. Back in England it was 30°c. Lost 2 beach days. I was fuming. First time ever bad weather on a Greek holiday.
