Man that fan reminds me during a childhood, but mine lasts for 2 weeks due to striked by lightning.

I got one of these recently and despite their not great build quality, they are some good performers and still pretty nice fans.
@TheFanUniverse3 күн бұрын
Awesome! I feel like Mitsubishi only did their best on the most important bits of the fan, like the motor for example. It still makes for a rather interesting & reliable fan though!
@Connectitthefancollector3 күн бұрын
@TheFanUniverse That is a good point. The motor is one of the most important components in a fan so you would want that to last the longest. Mine was seized when I got it but a little bit of oil solved that

This fan rotates very slow even at speed 5. How about the airflow?
@TheFanUniverse7 күн бұрын
This fan works more on pitch than RPM. The airflow is quite impressive for the low RPM this fan pulls

I once tried to "curve" my NGY ceiling fan blades, which is just upbending the blade ends. I decided to straighten it cuz its downrod is shorter than my phone
@TheFanUniverse9 күн бұрын
If anything else, bending the blade tips up on those cheap ceiling fans will do nothing but reduce the air intake area

This fan was discontinued in the 2000's I believe. The only ways to get one is to find them secondhand or perhaps search for a store which still has them new old stock

Great work as usual!! I love the way you extended the blade length closer to the motor. The original blades gave the impression that the blade arm was very long. I also like the fact that you used aluminium instead of iron. It is more durable, and the fan should heat up less. Also, awesome you made that wooden shape for giving the shape!
@TheFanUniverse10 күн бұрын
Thanks! I never ever like long blade arms on ceiling fans. They make the fan look cheap & usually ruin the proportions. I have tried making custom ceiling fans with steel blades, but I always end up overstressing the motor. I actually still need to change the shape of the bending jig a bit to make the curvature more factory looking, but it’s definitely a start!

lol i remember attempting bladeset fabbing but in a waay dangerous manner. Thin sheet steel cut with a fabric scissor, places jagged and got my hands cut. I made it for a small plastic fan , but failed so horribly 😂. And also, ur end product looks more like ovida tmt fan of the 80s
