I'd love to see a quick update now at the end of September. Would you do anything else to the area this coming winter, or is it a case of leaving it for a number of years before re-coppicing?

Thanks ..that is fascinating. I shall have a go at making the string. Some of the many nettles in my garden are as tall as me so it should make good source material. There will plenty left for the local wildlife!
