Shelton was thriving at one time with great paying jobs at the mill.

100 year flood, happens every year ...
@teamster19979 күн бұрын
It does happen every year, but this was a lot more than usual. Last time I seen it this high was before they built the new bridge.

Great footage. It's amazing to see all that flooding and the river bed (which is completely jam packed with gravel from the hillside erodion of a century of clear cutting timber) the gravel is still higher than the water in the main channel of the river bed 😂 it would be funny if it wasn't such a clear example of government sponsored waste fraud and abuse!

Several people have mentioned the dredging also that they used to do. Apparently they stopped that 25 or so years ago. Thanks for the comment.

@teamster1997 you got my house on there after 4:30 when you're over the hatchery. I've sent this video to friends and family to see what's what. Thanks for the upload

You shoulda got out there earlier. This is after the waters already receded 5 or 6 inches by the look of it.

I was, but it was to windy. I was taking a big chance as it was to video this from high up. I kept getting high wind warning and return to home from the drone because of the wind. Yes, it did drop from it's peak by the time I decided to fly. Thanks for commenting.

I felt nostalgic and decided to look up videos of my hometown to see if there was any and I love this. definitely got me a little emotional as I reminisced. I grew up on wildcat Drive in the 80s and my family members are buried at the cemetery. I spent so many summers at the playground and My grandpa and uncles all worked at Simpson. I used to walk the train tracks by myself as a little girl to town. It was a very different era.

I'm sorry I didn't see this sooner. I don't know where you're at, but it's supposed to rain heavy the next couple of days and drones don't do well in the rain because it'll sometimes destroy the electronics. I'm working on that part, making one water proof. If I had the money, I'd have a thermal vision equipped drone and could do it even now in the dark to look for the dog. I hope it comes home on it's own soon.

That's Kool, What drone do you have?
@teamster19973 ай бұрын
DJI mini 3 pro. They have a newer one now, a DJI mini 4 pro. I'd get that one if I could afford it and if you decide to get one, get the "Fly more combo". It costs more but it's worth it. Very easy to fly these drones. If you want to spent less, around $400, the "Potensic ATOM" with the 3-Axis Gimbal in 4K is also pretty good for far less money. It just doesn't have as many features as the DJI like obstacle avoidance.

Stevo, I use a dedicated lower with the slidefire stock, that way I can swap it around with other uppers and other folks can try it with their uppers. I did try a Rock River two stage trigger on the slidefire lower and it was much more difficult to fire rapidly. I put the stock trigger back in and it now works great.

Lol, yeah, pogo stick is right. I just mounted it on the dash in front of me with double back tape. Worked out well......I just remembered that when uploading to you tube, they offered to steady the video so it wasn't so shaky. That's why the frame portion of the video moves around so much..................
