There's 2 versions of the Athens 2004 intros: one is for the opening ceremony & the other is from day 2 till the closing ceremony.

Just as well that Ten had the rights to the AFL Finals Series and not Nine but I would have loved to have seen Nine air both the AFL & NRL Grand Finals.

At the time, the Melbourne bulletin was the only one in widescreen, and since Kerry Stokes was rumoured to be anti-digital at first, the Seven Network would receive nicknames such as Channel 4 Plus 3 and Channel 16 Minus 9 (among others) from people on forums. 😉
