The algorithm dropped a gem! I’d love to do this someday once I get a decent track car.

This is not the usual configuration. There is usually an extra section instead of going directly up the west straight.

I was pedaling as fast as I could. Probably over driving and over heating the RE71R. There was no way I was making up 3 seconds to get a class win.

the number of 1:37s was mind bending, and I think your 1:40 is FAST !! I feel so slow in my stock suspension STi. Great pedaling though !

@@walterbrooks3539 Roger that. Ive done a fair amount of measuring these cases after theyve seen many miles and abuse and they do seem to distort over time. IAG makes comment about this on their site and I believe them. I shoot for .0015-.0018 on the mains. Ive built them all the way out to .0023 and they ran just fine but anything past that and youd have to run like 20w50oil or something to keep your oil pressures up. Have fun building your motor!
@walterbrooks35395 жыл бұрын
@@roadworthy7884 Thanks for the insight. I was measuring between 0.0004 and 0.0023 on the front bearing. I thought maybe the case halves had shifted, but the tight measurement was perpendicular to the case split, so it didn't make sense.

I love watching his vids as well. Very nice driving! I wish I could drive like that. Although he doesn't have a vid, Chris Richardson in CSCS, ran a 2:00 in a 15 wrx, stock suspension with rear sway. Power probably similar or less than Walter. The new platforms are great. I still can't believe how GOOD your S2000 is , Kev, with stock suspension.

Walter , you seem much faster from corner to corner , are you running more power?

So with the extra grip out of the corners you are getting better terminal speeds inbetween? Great driving! Good luck in series!

Hmmm. I'd like to try it maybe at some point, but not sure. I have a KB pick up and baffle I put in for my HPDE days. Like watching you drive. I pick out stuff here and there to try....thanks.

Yes, GP is an awesome track and with the elevation changes and blind corners, nothing else close by really compares. Do yourself a favour and take one of the schools, like the OTA CTMP school.
@andys45247 жыл бұрын
Walter, do you have any other GP vids buried somewhere with your car? Also, do you have an opinion on our EJ motors on this track? I heard it is really hard on them.
@walterbrooks35397 жыл бұрын
I can upload mine from last year. It has less gauge info though. GP is rough on EJ motors due to long sustained high G corners. Oil pools in the heads and you get oil starvation and spun bearings. I blew an engine there but was due to low/old oil. I also blew a timing belt on the way to GP. Sheesh. I have an oil control baffle in the engine, and make sure I have new oil and slightly overfill before the track.

I find it interesting that both you and evan groenke run stage one (ots?) tunes...is it because you guys don't see the need to boost 19 psi while you track? more reliable?

@andys45248 жыл бұрын
Nice run! Can ask what modifications you have? I'm not very familiar with the OTA GT1 rules. ....I don't think I've seen a red 11 GR yet. Probably makes you faster .😀
@walterbrooks35398 жыл бұрын
Thanks. Always room for improvement though. Go to www.time-attack.ca for more info on the series. Not many mods... stage1 tune, WL rear sway, 2015 steering rack, then tires, brakes, etc. Red GR's were only available in the US... I imported the car. I have an aftermarket seat that I'm pretty happy with too.

Are you flying 1-blade Props? :-D I really recommend to balance your Props, and your video footage will be far better! Quality by cam looks fine, but the vibrations kill it completely...
