Just training my riser a lot helped me out with this, which is probably enabling me to actually apply back pressure

You should train Brian Shaw. You can turn him into a beast. He hasn't had proper training like this. Devon talks way over his head.

Thanks again for another great video, Bob. I'm 6'6" and struggling to be comfortable at the table. I started arnwrestling a month ago, and how to set and move my feet, keeping my hips to the table, avoiding squatting, etc. has been a huge challenge for me. Any advice?
@utewbdАй бұрын
Doing pushing after your hardest pulling day is really smart recovery wise. Another great video Bob, thank you. I mostly just train pull ups, dips and armwrestling specific stuff. Maybe I should put my pull up day opposite end of the week from practice, then have my dips come the day after practice. I do my armwrestling specific stuff everyday since it's mostly working out my forearms and specific motions for technical practice and bloodflow recovery.

Hi bob I watched the training methods todd Hutchings does and wrote it all down..when I looked over at again though I thought this is so much volume for a natural puller, I'm sure recovery is not enough and hence burnout/injury is at a greater risk. Thoughts on this? Is his routine designed more for an 'enhanced' puller?
@utewbdАй бұрын
Absolutely it is. I would recommend starting out slow to avoid tendonitis. If you aren't seeing strength gains (more rep same weight or more weight same rep) workout to workout, you need to put more space in between them. If you want to follow the volume of a Hutchings routine, just do very low weights and cautiously increase it. Unless you're already very experienced on the table, I think you should save more of your strength for actual pulling/practices, and do your lifts in between as long as you aren't just breaking yourself down doing it.

If you been to construction trades do a lot of hammering after a year you will see a significant growth in size. Even if you have small hands and wrist it will grow big. All of that constant shock from hammering everyday will eventually create little micro tear in the connective tissues and micro fractures in the bone which will transform your hands and wrist. Have inherited small hands from my parents but with construction trades for 4 years and literally grew my hands. Recently been doing armwrestling training and it has helped me progress with top rolling bigger hands. I suggest for those who have small hands and want to start arm wrestling. Try to include literal hammering towards the end of your training routine for 10-15 mins. Literally just hammer against a solid object and if your hand hurts after 10 mins like literally the pump is great, means you’re doing it right.

A great way to maintain pronator is also giving up center table to maintain your wrist position.

You are the best teacher for beginner bob damn this video is gold
it's a smart move in theory, but only works if you have the finger strength to contain them. Someone with very strong back pressure will be nearly impossible to contain with your fingers. And in the strap your wrist will just buckle. but like you said, requires tremendous strength to pull off.

Great stuff gents! Now all I have to do is remember to do it lol.
The question is how did John get that strong so a lot of armwrestlers get tired before him

Ciao Bob. I'd appreciate so much an assessment from you: I pulled a guy and the very first thing I did I completely pronated my hand. Now, I didn't finish him but I was very very surprised that he didn't contrast my immediate pronation, so I wonder if it is a technical mistake to pronate immediately after the go (my palm was facing the ground...and I was trying to get my opponent out of gas (I'm 42 he's 66...years old)...to finish him later...maybe shifting into a press...or a hook.). I'm just an amateur...I love armwrestling ... but pulled 3 three times in my all life...Thank you so much Bob...sorry if I asked a silly question. Bye !!!

5'8 nut ridiculously small arms and hands, only 6 inch hands from bottom of palm to top of middle finger, 1.4 inch thumb. I've been training for 3 months now. I am in really good shape, I've been lifting for years but arm wrestling jusy drew me in. Even when people try to cup my entire hand I have to resort to locking my wrist and making the beginning of my knucle of my thumb the pressure point of force. Pronation training seems like my only real option along with wrist strength so my little hands dont get snapped back like the head of a match stick
