If I may, could I ask how you learned the guitar parts? Did you use tabs or was it by ear?
@IkisMusicАй бұрын
A little mix of both. And also watching Malice Mizer live footage and looking closely at their fingers :P

Is the Les Paul easier to play the arpeggiated chords on? I bought Kozi's guitar (ESP AW-550) on Ebay and had it for about 4 years before I sold it, and it seems like every guitar I've tried since then is not as easy to play arpeggiated chords on, like the fretboard is too flat in comparison. I've mostly tried LTDs and Ibanez guitars, since I heard Gibsons were unreliable. I'm starting to rethink that now though.
@IkisMusic3 ай бұрын
What's easier or harder is pretty individual, so it's hard to say. But in terms of ergonomics, Kozi's guitar seems to be similar to a Les Paul (or other Gibsons and lookalikes), in that it has a 24.75" scale and probably a ~12" fretboard radius. LTD's, Ibanez, etc, tend to have flatter necks that are supposedly more suited for Metal and Shredding. Although, as I said, it's very individual. BTW, the Les Paul you're seeing here is not an actual Gibson but a Tokai. I find the Japanese-made "Gibson knockoffs" to be better made than the "originals". So if you're thinking of reverting to a more "traditional" style of guitar that plays a bit like that one Kozi guitar, but don't want to pay huge bucks on a poorly built American Gibson that can't hold its tuning, maybe consider an Edwards, or Tokai, or something like that.

@@IkisMusic I completely forgot about the Eclipse series guitars! I've been out of the guitar game for years now, but I will have to give those another go or pick up a Tokai like yours. I kind of wish the ESP made an FRX or Forest series guitar that had that fretboard radius, since I really like their appearance. Great cover by the way! I'm sorry I didn't mention that earlier, you must be incredibly dedicated to your craft.

@@ItsJustaMeNow Thanks!! Yeah the Forest shape looks stunning but the feel is... not my type. I feel like the frets are too high. Maybe some people like that, it gives a semi-scalloped feel that might help some shredders out there, who knows.
