Well, the lawyer is correct that the Posse Comitatus Act will become a hindrance to President Trump massive deportation plan that restrict the US military for law enforcement. The law was enacted in favor of the confederates just like the massive amnesty to escape their criminal acts, so the law was not intended to protect the American people from lawless acts like killing American soldiers during the civil war. I have written a book about it, and my political opinion is that such law does not promote the "rule of law", but the rule of powerful politicians since the US President was converted to a ceremonial "head of state" similar to a Parliament created under a monarchy like the British or Japanese monarchy. This is the reason that the US Attorney General claimed at the US Congress that he was independent from the US President to justify the creation of "special counsels". Remember, the special counsels were used to investigate the "Watergate" scandal to overthrow President Nixon. The US AG therefore is acting as the "Prime Minister" of a Parliament or US Congress while the US President is just a "head of state" or no law enforcement authority. This is just my personal political opinion and not a legal advice to anybody.
