What happened to him feels more on par with The Winter Soldier’s background. Capture and experimented on by Russian bad guys. Also, the song sings more about the Russian man Rasputin and Bucky embraces that more than Soldier Boy.

Gonna be honest, I feel like this dialogue was for ones who were sacrificed and betrayed by their own country when mission was accomplished just like in "USS Indianapolis: Men of Courage"! movie. because that movie is very much real but just because it don't show America as an hero, so movie flopped. Gotta say, its really one of the rarest American movies who had come to show a little bit truth about WWII without playing the hero or saint card!
