I grew up on the Hit Era the most, and while I grew up and realized some of the episodes were stupid as hell, I still enjoy watching them for the novelty and aesthetic. And it's not like the HIT era were all stinkers. I mean, they had classic episodes like Duncan's Bluff, Respect for Gordon, Flour Power, Hector the Horrid, and of course, The Great Discovery. This song feels more nostalgic for me than the Thomas Anthem, even if it's superior in every way. You know this series hits hard when you turn 20 in 2 months and you're rambling on about Trains with faces, and collecting a bunch of them off ebay for a series/remake/mockumentary adaptation just in time for the 40th Anniversary of the show
