Concrete to support the waterline, but the tub is sitting in dirt, and half of it is missing for the drain.. ?

Use a core drill next time not a saw save you 3/4 of the time. Series of 4 inch cores then just use a crow bar to break the cores and then tidy up. It works.
@jameslostlen4 күн бұрын
Sounds like you have some experience in this. Thank you for the suggestion. my biggest reason for not using that approach, is that mounting the core drill to the stone in order to drill the course would be such a time-consuming task. Do you have any workaround for that?
@1mmickk2 күн бұрын
@@jameslostlen Yes just get a big drill and fit a core bit to it and run water and put your chest on it. You dont need a fancy jig to apply a constant force. People used core drills in the stone age. You see the surface area of the contact surface is a mere fraction of the results. a 1/8th surface cutting out 32/8ths is a good result. You can google up specific values but just give it a go. Its what all Stone Masons do if that helps persuade you. The water does a lot of the work as well. Cutting rock needs good lube or you are pushing shit up hill. You will be surprised at how fast you can cut through granite with a core drill. You can also get very excited and do micro blasting. Little powder charges each one like a 22 bullet less the pointy end that can fracture rock to very accurate dimensions but its complicated and takes years of practice. I love your last two projects and Im convinced that you can make a good go of things by working smarter not harder. All the best to you mate.

Your work is truly inspiring. I'm in the process of learning woodworking, and I stumbled upon your bathtub video on KZbin. I went to your channel and found only one more video. I'm happy I watched it because it got me thinking about how long your work will last in this world. Perhaps people thousands of years from now will sit in your stone chair and admire your craftsmanship. Wood probably won't endure for that long, but it's easier to work with ;) but maybe I'll carve into a big stone myself, in my lifetime because of your video.
