Even before I saw the description I was thinking "boom boom bridge" would be epic, sort of like bobomb castle from paper mario; not sure it would fit the vibe of other place names though.

"boom boom bridge" it is then! :)

The subscriber trees are very nice; I'm lucky to be included. I just wish I had remembered which one I am!
@dr.pickle.brainsАй бұрын
Yeah, i really wish that i could add subscriber names on those signs (most of the names are hidden)... but maybe i could populate the forest with other objects like boulders or mushrooms, and on those put the names of people who left a comment.

I love this series. I can see how much time you spend on it; I understand the delays, but please never stop!
@JonathanTippy4 ай бұрын
If you don't need a continuous boat path, and I doubt old boats would behave nicely with that gap anyway, you could do some "broken terraforming". Simply extend the chunk border wall across where the water step is, and add a little bit of shoreline on the 1.0 side of the chunk border. It will look weird, but it will look the same weird is what is just next to it.
@dr.pickle.brains4 ай бұрын
Not a bad idea actually. The only problem is the length of the "broken water", if it's short then it's doable, but if the "broken water" is 100 blocks long... yeah... Also if i ever reach modern versions, i could use [mangrove roots] blocks to make a beaver dam.
@JonathanTippy4 ай бұрын
@@dr.pickle.brains That could look pretty, though if you care about realism, beavers usually don't build dams across oceans. About the terraforming, yeah, I was really only thinking about that one instance.
@dr.pickle.brains4 ай бұрын
@@JonathanTippy In the land of creepers and zombies, ocean beavers would not be the craziest thing :D , but yeah, there is no real solution to this problem. Either i mask it or leave it. However one other solution would be to fix it using world edit, but that's kinda cheaty... so i'm leaning towards keeping it as a novelty, a reminder of beta sea level (not because i'm lazy, noo)

Awesome. This is every bit as good as Hermitcraft; I can see how much effort you put in off-camera, digging so many tunnels with only stone tools!

Also, you could eventually convert your world to a large biomes world meaning you would get massive oceans and continents
@dr.pickle.brains7 ай бұрын
Not a bad idea actually. Maybe after i reach 1.16 or 1.19, cuz i don't see myself leaving the island before 1.16, but we'll see. By the way, how's your beta world? Any update video coming soon?
@zedex537 ай бұрын
What made you decide on the versions you would update to
@dr.pickle.brains7 ай бұрын
I have no interest in experiencing every version, i just want to feel a difference each time i update the game. Just like in Terraria, once you defeat the wall of flesh big changes takes place in your world. I wanted something similar in my world (if you imagine, you open up 1.20 and there are few tree types etc. (the world is just like beta 1.7.3) and then after some events/milestones your world start to generate jungle, and other biomes). So: 1.0.0 -> new world gen., new game mechanics 1.4 -> new biomes, tree types, anvil, crops 1.6 -> redstone stuff, horses(cant wait for the horses) 1.7 -> new world gen., tree types, biomes 1.8 -> new blocks, ocean monument 'n stuff 1.9 -> game mechanics, grass patch blocks 1.13 -> update aquatic, observer block 1.16 -> nether update, villager update 1.19 -> new world gen., caves and cliffs, blocks, biomes That was the OG plan back in june of 2023, maybe after i build the metropolis i will update to 1.21, dunno

another great upload from you dr!I love how the building is going so far man. your ideas are amazing and I appreciate the fact that you let your imagination free while building.And don't worry on rushing the castle and finishing it in the next episode. you should go with your pace,thats what makes this series better in my opinion.keep doing what you love dr,have a good day :)

holy smokes Dr. This video was a masterpiece.I love the switch from building montages to commentary about the builds,and i love how your structures look!the way you manipulate the rather empty block palete of old minecraft and the blocky lighting to add more depth to the build is truly fascinating to me!Also,regarding the stuf you said about the spawner,i think your idea of having to pay points to build a nice building is actually great,and goes nicely with the grindy feeling of this series,and also,its more building ofcourse:)Also,if you want to make the brigde to the castle feel less empty,i think you should build a nice arch from the entrence of the catsle to the start of the bridge.whatever you decide to do though,im sure it will be great!anyways i should stop yapping,keep up the good work:)
@dr.pickle.brains8 ай бұрын
Thank You SO MUCH for your nice comment! Yes, i also agree that paying for the opportunity to use the spawner is better. So in theory, if i find a wild spawner in the wilderness, in order to use it i have to build a village on top of it, then connect that village to the nearest castle, send materials to said castle (like 30 points worth of materials), and then build specialised spawner building... thingy. All that just so i cloud use the spawner. Again, thank you for your comment! Have a nice day! :)

Thank You! Your nice words means a lot! Yeah, beta versions are becoming more and more popular! Modern minecraft (in my opinion) is fine, but beta 1.7.3 THRIVE when it comes to early game. There is beauty in simplicity.

So many memories from this version of minecraft! Just remembered how scary skeletons were when running wasnt in the game yet! Also would be quite cool with some kind of watcher tower up at the mountain you where standing on, that way you get too see a top down view of all the towns! ^^ Keep it up! Relaxing to watch while studying.
