If you contact motorsport uk by phone or email and tell them where you live they will give you a list of local scrutineers you can contact. I was lucky enough to find one that was coming to the Isle of Wight on holiday 😝 glad you enjoyed the video

good video, one think id say is the 'rule' about the fire extinguisher notes 'luggage compartment', which i take to be a boot ? pressumably as the cockpit is normally protected by the rops, but the boot isnt.

3.1.2. All extinguisher containers must be adequately protected and must be situated within the cockpit. The container may also be situated in the luggage compartment on condition that it is at least 300 mm from the outer edges of the bodywork in all horizontal directions. It is prohibited to mount bottles outside the main structure Yes that is interesting - it almost sounds that if in the luggage compartment it has to be at lest 300mm, however, does that mean if within the cockpit it does not? i might have to ask our club scrutineer for some conformation on this. glad you enjoyed the video

Not rallying but driving across Canada, we carried a small gas can (full), jug of pre-mix coolant, assorted WD40 spray cans. The only thing we didn't use was the petrol. We did get caught in a massive downpour so bad I was pouring water out of the spark plug lead boots. The WD40 was a god send and yes I bought new leads when we arrived home.

Overall… sounds like a trip we made a few years back. Planned on taking the classic mini, but ended up renting (hiring) a convertible Bini. We have AAA coverage, but their packages are no where near as extensive. Basically all they cover is up to 200 miles of towing which is great for local drives with old cars. Glad y’all had a great time

About 10 years ago we went to France in our Rover 100 convertible, we broke down near Lyon I think and the AA were brilliant, we went to a hotel and we collected a hire car the next day and get this the wife the day after crashed that into another car on the motorway so we got another hire car and a couple of weeks later late at night in Dover collected a UK RHD car for the journey back home. About 10 days later I answered the phone and it was a car transport company saying they were in the street, I remember saying why is that? and the driver says we've got your Rover! So I've always been with the AA and always has Europe cover. Not sure if there's certain levels or after Brexit something has changed?

The new drum may not be concentric. So much Chinese crap on the market now. I would fit a set of alloy Minifins, good weight saving over those heavy cast drums. Big ends gone on the R53?? Sounds terminal

the basic rule with sprinting is the more modified the car is, the more safety kit either you or your car needs - there is a very basic guide on the Isle of Wight Car Club website - here is a link, but I will defo make a video in the future on this topic - iowcc.co.uk/sprint/
