Thank you for making this video. It is one of the top Universities I am looking at going to as I live in PA. I live multiple hours away though. I play volleyball, so I am planning to look around the campus when I go to the game with my mom. It’s the closest non-community college though. The campus looks so pretty. I am going into my sophomore year. I will be a sophomore officially on the 21st. Penn state is one of my dream schools. I am currently only looking at 6 schools. Tysm for making this video.

i found that throwing myself into as many clubs and activities as possible helped! also just staying in touch with my family back at home, but the only thing that really makes it easier is time so don’t give up if it’s hard for a few months! good luck :)

i have a samsung galaxy book flex, i think its the 2nd gen. not sure what the stats are but i think its a great laptop! i know macbooks are also loved by cs students :)

I have absolutely loved following you on yours and Meg’s first year. I found your channel when PSU was my daughter’s dream school and tomorrow we head to her NSO. I had to stop by to watch your NSO video again and saw you dropped a new vid. (I’m hip) I wish you all the best in your sophomore year. If you need a freshman friend my daughter and her ESA kitty will be in East. 😊 PS… as a Penn State Mom… I loved seeing your mom in your early videos. Tell her she has a fan that was bummed she wasn’t in this one. (But dad rocks too!!).

So my daughter is in Brumbaugh and she is so miserable. It’s breaking my mama heart! She is having a really hard time making friends. Are you and Megan going to the Kent Game?? Any chance she could meet up? I’ll be there but sitting in the regular stands of course. I’m sure this is a really lame request. How much is tution and housing fees for your major and minor ,are the faculty good and are they helping the students and last thing is do they have spring term and i heard spring term have less internship and less courses available?

hi! tuition information ik is on the psu website, it depends if you are in state or out. the faculty are pretty good so far, it really depends on what profs you get, and i haven’t found that spring semester has any less options than fall semester:)

the roommates for NSO are random, mine disappeared halfway through lol but you don’t spend a lot of time in the room. i know there were activities for my dad to do but i don’t think they were necessarily required, but they did have some good info

The walk from East to the middle of campus or town used to be bad in the winter and cold spring when there was nothing but a huge parking lot and open areas to cross. After visiting PSU almost 40 years later, the area is built up with wind break buildings and lots of trees, making the walk a lot better. East was my least favorite. I liked Pollock Dorms the most. Funny that I visited my Porter Hall Dorm Room and also toured a room in what used to be the female dorms across the quad and they look exactly the same. They made major improvements to the dining hall and other areas of campus but it looks like they put minimal money into upgrading the dorm rooms for the most part.

does penn have a meal plan where you can pay for various restaurant chains on campus with like university cash? if that makes sense. like money credit you can only use on campus?

yes! basically you have a meal plan which is required when you live on campus that you can use anywhere on campus including the name brand restaurants like panera but also at the dining halls. when you use your meal plan at dining halls or “in house” made food you get a huge discount (because that’s is the overhead you are paying for by having the meal plan) which is why places like flips or pizza are so cheap. you also have lion cash which you can use anywhere too but you don’t get a discount with it. lion cash is kinda like a debit bank account and you can use it for laundry and also some places downtown. lmk if you have any more questions!

the college of engineering is great! it’s a good school academically and there are a ton of networking resources and clubs and orgs join! i’m doing computer science and i’ve enjoyed it so far
