I can relate - it's a vicious loop to get stuck in - because - people can treat you badly, behave immorally, seem to 'get away with it'. When I catch my thoughts and emotions in a wrestling loop - trying to make sense of someone behaving badly - I just put the person in a 'blank' space - I aim not to think of them as 'innocent' or ... whatever ... I aim to not think about them at all - to separate my thoughts of them from my emotional response to what they've done. And this gives me some balance - though I notice my FEELINGS become the things I'm wrestling with - just represented by the EXPERIENCE with that person - my mind - seeking validation - starts to dredge of 'proof' of other circumstances and events where I have been exposed to / felt the same thing. So - I aim to separate the person from the behavior. I don't condone the BEHAVIOR - and this gives me emotional space to get some distance from my own judgement of the PERSON ... and the emotions such judgement can trigger. By compartmentalizing like this - it halves the struggle - gives me space to resolve the confusion/frustration, bit by bit - and replace it with more balance, more insight, more ability to move past ... with peace of mind, I can definitively say I don't condone the behavior. And, sometimes, this means to literally move past - that person. There are layers to these processes. So, be gentle with yourself. Try separating out the components so you can regain balancing while considering and resolving each one. Just becoming aware of the struggle means you ARE making progress. Neville's message in this video helps.
