He needed to create a criminal history.... Something that would convince ropar that he was a criminal and a murderer so that Ropar would trust him more. Also he needed to convince ropar that he is on the dark side capable of murder and smuggling narcotics.

I just recently brought both seasons of this show & I love it it stinks that there was only 2 seasons. Great action & I love the friendship between these 3 almost like brothers and I like this tribute & I have seen several other good tributes but no Jason & Hercules Tributes together which I would like to see if I could find any . And I know the show is done & gone but I would love to see some new tributes sometime if possible or even a reunion movie . But us fans if any left will probably not get lucky enough for that to happen. But thanks for the few good tributes I have seen.

That's my one qualm for this video. The way I edited it, it looks like that woman in the clip is Briseis but it honestly isn't anyone in particular. I thought her expression was very dramatic so I included it at that beat. Thanks for pointing that out! Briseis is my fav <3

its tragic how much even the 'good' few movie versions of count monte cristo ..lost...from the book ,example.. just read a original on how the count gets togheter with hayede and mercedies is a strong woman..rather then a price wife that hade nothing better to do the past 20 YEARS then be pretty and ready to fall into the arms of a man that in the books is honest about how they both no longer is the over head in love youths they once where....and despite its also a flawed one ,cant help to love some Quotes from one favorite version. '' I tell you this ,I am no traitor to neither man nor gods but if you not seen fit to exersice Divine justice then will I ,I be ruthless and devestating as you!'' ''I am a humble hermit monk ,whom ridding such a fine horse would seek god in this a place'' ''I did not come seeking god , i came to replace him'' ''hermit backs to the side when zee count storms out pouring the only thing the church vaules on the floor a compensation to the hermit for bashing his shrine door in before ridding of with a cape giving the dark knight a run for his money''...gota love monte cristo firlm versions ,that dont deepend on ..action...to catch ther audiance.

The book is absolutley amazing but I love how different this film is from the book (and I hardly ever say that). There are definite liberties taken but I still love it haha

@@TheTempusfugitx havent seen it myself onl 'cheeked' how it deviates from the book in predictable 'hollywood' ways ,but tru that dont make it a bad movie...its just a shame it feels the need to prop itself up as 'this is ..A.. monte cristo ,rather then a ''this is made with inspiration'' from monte cristo as its own count story.

Adaptations may be more similar or have greater differences. The two versions with Robert Vernay, the version of Claude Autant-Lara have bigger differences, the version with jean Marais is more like an adventure, despite being more similar to the book .. The version of Denys de La Patellière from 1979 is very similar to the book. The Prisoner of Château d'If (Узник замка Иф) by Georgi Yungvald-Khilkevich simplifies the story, but remains similar to novel, having a darker style. I find it curious that only hollywood and one French version (with Depardieu), Edmond returns to Mercedes. All the rest he has haydee or alone. This is a more naive view of life. It reminds me that Salinger and Oona O'neill were not together, she marries Chaplin and there was no return for both of them. The Norwegian series of 1965, the Mexican film of 1942, the Argentine film of 1953, the Russian version of 1988, Edmond stays with Haydee. A more peculiar thought of lovers separated, but returning. The 1922 version with John Gilbert and the 2002 version with Jim Cavizell are more in the swashbuckler style. the Russian version, the French version of 1979 and etc. the count is more cunning in its punishment, with no sword fights and great adventures.

@@fernand3932 true ot can cary..but at some point you gota ask yourself if it should be allowed to sell itelf under a well known name...or only have an 'inspired by' in the after texts. all for inspiration and people warping the concepts of stories in new ways but its a shame to lose sight of originals specialy when some new versions can be argued to be ..much.. more shallow then the true material of the title they use where. either way , happy midwinter may woodins gift giving grow your hoard and bastets blessings fill your herth with joy and song!
