what do you mean by functional?
@danyasaki9921
@danyasaki9921 2 жыл бұрын
A functional is a linear transformation from the vector space to its field of definition. e.g., a functional on R^n would be a linear transformation from R^n to R.

Thank you for the video, but I want to know if I could change the significant figure (more decimals) of that slope and intercept in Google Sheets.. do es enyone know how to do it, please? (i.e. m=1.0241 insted of the given 1.02)
@danyasaki9921
@danyasaki9921 4 жыл бұрын
I have not tested it, but here is what I found. The equation in the legend may not include enough decimal places. If this is the case for a linear trend, the SLOPE and INTERCEPT commands may be used to calculate the slope and intercept of the trend. For this data, we would write =SLOPE(B2:B6,A2:A6) scholarlyoa.com/regression-using-google-sheets/ or =INTERCEPT(B2:B6,A2:A6) in a cell. Note that each of the functions require the range of the dependent variable to be listed first (B2:B6)and the range of the independent variable second (A2:A6). (scholarlyoa.com/regression-using-google-sheets/)

How would you add Feb - 29 in to this calculation? 365.25 days?
@danyasaki9921
@danyasaki9921 4 жыл бұрын
You would have to handle it a bit differently. The computation in the video is assuming that each event (birthday on a given date) is equally likely. That makes the computation easier. February 29 is different, as it only occurs on leap years. That means a birthday on February 29 is less likely than on another date.

Hi! May I ask why you use 2,3,3 as diagonal elements in 7:36? We only have two eigenvalues 2,3 but what if we need to construct a 3x3 diagonal matrix? Do we always repeat the last element, i.e. 3 here, until the diagonal is filled up?
@jijobuje
@jijobuje 4 жыл бұрын
I think it is because we have 2 vectors for eigenvalue 3. That is why we wrote it two times. And the reason of the sequence of 2,3,3 diagonal is about how you wrote the P matrix. I mean first column for 2s eigen vector and other columns for the 3s eigen vectors.
