I HAVE A PAIR OF VAIL ANGELS AND I FEEL THE SAME WAY AS YOU ABOUT THE SIZE OF THERE FINS AND THE STRESS IT PUT ON THERE BODYS IM COOL WITH THE DORSAL AND ANAL FINS BEING LONG BECAUSE THEY SEEM TO MANAGE THEM WITH NO ISSUES BUT THE TAIL FINS ARE TO LONG AND PUT A STRAIN ON THE BASE OF THERE TAIL AND SPINE

Planted aquariums can be quite simple to maintain if you set them up properly! I suggest starting with a base of soil (aqua soil or potting soil) and capping that with a 2 inch layer of sand or gravel. That will provide your plants with the nutrients they need to thrive with very little effort on your part!

Considering it was free I’d say that’s a saved fish. No one was going to buy him. All the people that go out and buy bettas thinking they are saving them are really just funding the farms and putting more bettas on the shelf.

these kind of bettas were imported from Asia. You should see how bettas are treated in the farm, how they are being selected for breeding and such. for 'saving' things up, search a video about WILD bettas. Americans should breed their own fish if they really care about pet so much.

I must be doing something wrong. I've tried so many fish. My Betta instantly and consistently attacks anything I put into his 10 gallon tank. I've even tried rescaping the tank, placing him into another tank for a month, and then introducing him back in the tank with the other fish. As soon as I place him in the tank, he instantly attacks all the fish😢

@@HBrsz I don’t think you’re doing anything wrong, some betta fish are extremely aggressive, it’s more rare but still happens. Sometimes the really aggressive betta fish can be kept in a tank with schooling fish if you keep them in a large aquarium with a lot of plants! (Minimum 40 gallon tank)

I got a male betta a few weeks ago he is super tiny mostly white with a tiny bit of red on his tail. My boyfriend got a female for his tank and she is small but not tiny like my boy. Her name is sprinkles my boy doesn’t have a name yet I just call him kiko not sure why. Also I was screaming at the tv for you to get the poor boy. Oh I hate seeing bettas like that. I know he probably would have broke your heart but I hated seeing him left behind. Your new boy is beautiful and the best choice for that tank

I don’t keep a lid on the aquarium so that there is more oxygen exchange in the water and the water evaporates more quickly so I am still adding fresh water weekly, which can cause hard water so I also add a little tannins to help without making the water dark. I also try to under stock the tank and have a lot of plants in the aquarium! And a good light to keep the plants alive! Also, I keep dirted tanks so the plants have a nutrient rich substrate to root into.
