I have the exact same engine but mine won’t start. I bought a new glow plug and a new glow plug heater and put fresh fuel into it and when the fuel goes into the carborator it is red but when it gets to the piston it turns brown and I don’t know why. Can you do a video on how to take it apart and put it back together please

Looks nice, dude, I wish you can sell it (well, it's 2019 and I think you may have sold it already). My mother has a HDi 306 too, and I used to drive it in the past, but hers is pretty more dirty and she don't care too much about the car tbh. Maybe these holidays I could clean it and change some interior parts to make the car looking much better, because the engine is still working nicely despite of all the years.

Even though this videos was done in 6years ago. It helped me to resolve my issue. Thank you. ;) Initially thought it was something to do with the turbo pull start, after watching this video took the clutch bell off and one of the clutch pads had come off. Couldn’t test it yet struggling to put the pull start coil back in to place.

Hey i just bought one , but how did you connect the choke cable and how does he goes from the left side of the carb to the drivers side? I have my steering wheel on the left side from the car. ( when you sit in it)

Probably mains bearings and some piston slap, not cheap to repair. Mains kit is £85 from sandifords UK, but recoating barrel and new piston will set you back £280 easy plus some extra gaskets

not long had my mk2 1.3 and i think this will be the next step for me. i havent a clue what to get tho can you tell me or link me in the right direction so i dont buy the wrong weber lol. Cheers.

Hello there, you sad in the description first cars should not have airbags, ABS, and Power steeering, but what exactly did you thought about this? Nothing you did, all three of this little helpers where Live savers, take the airbags: what, under normal driving conditions are they helping you? nowhere... And take the ABS... under normal driving conditions it is the same thing as an airbag... Well Power steering, hard to become a Car without it in this days...Well just think of your own Childs Car

Turned out to be a busted clutch bearing that had broken free from it's runners and was catching between the clutch friction bell and clutch shoes. Thank's anyway though. Run's sweet now!

Low compression is usually a worn piston or piston liner. However it can also be caused by a loose cylinder head. Make sure the head bolts at the bottom/inside the cooling fins are tight. You can buy both of them. I am not sure where you live but I have put a link in the comments section of this video for you to see the parts you need to buy. Thank's!

Glow plug first, check your low speed needle I have 3 .21 s . The carbs suck ass. In your vid too, you cant just let it idle after its started give it some gas, its flooding out

The installation was fine. Quite easy really as there is a lot of space around this little engine!! Total cost was about £85 including gaskets and sealants. It's worth getting. It ran a lot smoother after that. You just have to keep looking. I was very lucky to find an almost new one. Good luck!!

How did you find the installation? And how much was the total cost if you dont mind me asking?? im thinking about getting a weber. None on eBay that i can see though! :-(

@zeetek007 she departed to a new owner over a year ago :( Was great though when I had it. Apart from the head gasket failing a week before I sold it. Must have known I was trying to sell it!!! HA

how did you fit the exhaust to it?

@zeetek007 It was a great laugh, always kept me on my toes though. I think all new drivers should learn in a car with pretty much no safety features at all so they know what real fear is when things go wrong!!

@zeetek007 Hey mate, it only had 4. I wish I had the 4+e that would have been great, trying to keep up with modern cars on the motorway in a 4 speed is hell!!!
