The breathing of the narrator is hilarious, I've never heard anything like this before. Otherwise it's quite an interesting documentery about a fascinating architect I've never heard of before, since Irving J. Gill is quite an important and inovative pioneer in the modern movement in architecture. I love the fact that the exterior was as important as the interior in his work, and small (decorative) but significant details as well. I wish I could've heard a conversation between Mr Gill and Frank Lloyd Wright who was only 3yrs older. It is very sad that the Dodge house was demolished since it was ranked by the American Institute of Architects among the 15 most architecturally significant American houses.

Is there more info about this film. It feels like a 16 print the optical sound track in its glory. The breathing in the pauses in the narration and then in the end credits seem authentic to loving film style

The handful of houses along that stretch of Lucile are remarkable. The living rooms can be a little bouncey. I hope the new owner replaces the fireplace wall with something transparent.

Amazing house, so glad they maintained the essence and spirit of the house , remaining faithful to the original construction . Final view with the sun goes down is simply mindblowing 🫠🫠

amazing that these 2 houses still exist...would have thought someone would have come in and bulldoze them to build some ridiculous huge monstrosity
