OK, the reason I asked was because I haven’t felt good for a couple months and I specifically on my own asked to have my cortisol level tested and the doctor did order it and I did have it done between 730 and 8:30 in the morning and my level came back one and my doctors office won’t call me back because I just don’t know what to do about it and I am very worried from what I have been reading. One is very very, very low, especially early in the morning like that which from what I understand, it is supposed to be at a higher level

Unfortunately the technology does not exist for me to test my cortisol levels at home when I am low. This is only available with blood tests that take days to come back. I know I am low based on experience with the illness. The worse I feel the closer I am to a critical full adrenal crisis. I wish I had the technology.

I’ve been diagnosed with Addison’s but I never had salt cravings but of course I’m always been tanned because I have a tan all my life. I’ve always had a tan every since I was a little girl I always played in the sun. I always love the sun so I thought well that’s crazy. I’m always tan because I’m always laying out in the sun, but I never heard of anything like this until I was in the hospital and they found out I had Addison’s maybe by looking at my tan that’s what made them or whoever found out I don’t even know which Doctor Who found out they said I had Addison’s but I’m not on any medication Not yet I was hoping and praying I wouldn’t have to. It’s been a horrible nightmare nothing but tired and drained, exhausted and it messes with my brain and I do have headaches and I’m very tired. My back is killing me all the time I practically live on my couch. Thank you for your videos. I’ve been watching them, I really appreciate all your help. I’m scared to death to be on medication because I’m afraid that if I have to be on it, they won’t put me on the right medication or it might not get the right dose. It’s very very scary. I’m going through a very it’s beena long time I have been through a nightmare. Very stressful.

I was in the hospital about seven months ago and they said I had Addison’s disease. My doctor wants me to go get a test. This is seven months later for my cortisol and some other test but I noticed she don’t have acth test and I heard about that ACH test I don’t know if they will take and give me one of those at the lab but I was going to ask them if I could get that test while I’m there it’s not on her sheet for testing but I feel I need to get that test

When my daughter was in the hospital emergency room waiting for a diagnosis , the one thing I drilled into her was “ it’s not all in your head , if they tell you it is we know it isn’t “ she was a 20 year old young lady , they treated her as an anorexic and not at all kindly but thankfully there was one smart doctor who recognized the tan , and made the diagnoses ! Jill even though I’m new I’m so glad that you share your story, it eases my pain and anxiety so much. I went into a crisis that landed me in hospital for 8wks I was with my daughter thank God because I don’t have a medical alert bracelet simple because Im not able to afford it and the government doesn’t cover it. So I passed out, at the hospital it took them a long time to treat me, even after my daughter was letting them no how sick I was becoming , only about 2 nurses knew about Addisons my potassium was a 9, my blood pressure was 79 over 48 my heart rate was 300bpm then things went black. When I came too I was in icu still feeling awful and confused they were still playing around with the doses, after a few days they settled on 40 ml of dexamethazine when I was moved from icu I found out I was on the palliative care floor, even though I was put there because it was the only bed they had, but can you imagine how much that messed with my psyche! I was diagnosed in 2019, after being in hospital for 6mnths with no answers I lost so much weight that I need to get a feeding tube that caused so much problems and stress. I think that I’ve had addison’s since I was 16, because I was pretty much homeless and I had just had a baby and since then there wasn’t a month I wasn’t in hospital, I was accused of being bulimic and anorexic because I was so skinny and always throwing up then accused of drug seeking. and so much more, anyway how for some reason I became so reconditioned to the point of use a wheelchair and thank God now a walker, Jill I’ve had a really really hard life, from being abandoned at church at 6m the abused both physically and sexually I remember it starting at 3 until I was about 18, then I was as in a very abusive relationship but it was normal to me because that’s all I knew, I ended up having 2 more children my youngest born prematurely and with cerebral palsy would have been 3 if I wasn’t kicked repeatedly in the belly and forced to terminate the pregnancy or he would kick out of me. One day I mustered the courage to have the police put him out, but I was terrified that he was two come back and hurt me, and that’s exactly what happened, I took my kids and we lived in a shelter for 6m until I received housing in a city that I had never been our even heard of, it was beyond stressful but I finally for the first time felt like I didn’t have to walk on eggshells, there isn’t enough room to share everything like the depression, but because I have no family support or very much at all to be honest, I’m struggling with so much stressors I don’t think I’m on the right amount of cortisone I pass out all the time because my blood pressure gets really low I suffer from chronic pain and fibromyalgia, pericarditis and everyday stress, I know you’re busy but I would love to talk with you more, and also I how do I get the kit that you give out?

I don't have addison's disease but I've always had anxiety and after I had covid I had terrible fatigue and achy bones, it's the only way I could think of saying that. I am a teacher and in the summer of 2023 I couldn't get off of the couch for about a month. I would get up and shower and then sleep or watch television. After a month I felt a little better but it was about 1 and 1/2 years before these symptoms went away. I went to my acupuncturist who sent me to a functional medicine doctor. Bloodwork was done and I was told I had adrenal fatigue. I was finally diagnosed with long haul covid. I also just found out I have hyperthyroidism so I'm taking meds for this but talking about cortisol levels is so interesting. Stress is a big factor for me so I've been working on lowering this. I'm glad I found you channel and thank you for sharing your story.
