Does anybody know the name of the guitar tech who organised Ted's memorial concert in Wales? I met this guy at the police station in Reading three weeks ago but he left before I had a chance to get his number.

And every time Alex wrote a song about a girl, that was me. He wrote Dance to Your Daddy, for me. Because I was the first person to run to the front at a SAHB gig, and dance.

I saw Alex about 1965 in a club in the centre of Glasgow, not sure what the club was called but a terrific show and music. Took many years and You Tube to re-discover him. Wild man, wild music, wild theatre. Still great music to play

I just heard in february for the first time in my life "midnight moses " live at ragnarock festival 74 ....whats to say... only Frank Zappa or Eddie Van Halen gave me porweful emotion like earing SAHB. I did research about his career cause here in Italy Alex Harvey is a perfect unknow, but also in the rest of the world is not known how he deserve. I dont understand how he sells only 60thousands copy for sahb stories for example in Uk, but ...we said ... the very good vine isnt for all . If u never eard with headphones any album of sahb, u notice how much little particular are recorded into songs. They really sensational and not for all people. Its a privilege ear this music.

Trudy Harvey is an evil old bitch who made two schoolgirls work for nine years on "letters" which were published in the form of comics at the time. These schoolgirls were Anne Marie Brian and Linda Baldwin. These letters were the ONLY thing that made money for SAHB. Alex was a drunk and he just obeyed Trudy. It was HER idea to steal all of my BRILLIANT work and make money from it. You ask Zal Cleminson, Chris Glenn, Catherine Glenn. You ask Trudy Harvey's friend Ruby Wax what happened to us afterwards. We have both been persecuted in our home town of Newbury. Trudy's pet thugs have bullied my son, when he was SEVEN YEARS OLD. FUCK YOU SAHB. I was Alex Harvey's MUSE. He never would have sex with me. And Trudy HATED that. He loved me as much as he loved his son Tyro. I can PROVE all of this because I STILL HAVE LETTERS FROM TRUDY HARVEY WHERE SHE NAGS AND NAGS ME TO KEEP WRITING THE LETTERS. You ask Harvey Goldsmith. He knew. I don't want any money. I just want the world to know that TRUDY HARVEY IS AN EVIL BITCH.

I bumped into Zal Cleminson in a pub a few weeks ago, and I asked him about your claims about Trudy. Zal just made a sad clown face, then pointed skyward with a finger. I sensed he was actually saying to me..... "The customer is always right, the girl is much too young to know the difference The guitar hanging in the hall is calling me in all its magnificence..."

Kind of depends what kind of tribute band you want. If it's just a bunch of old guys dressing up, then this is fine. If you are looking for something that might take you back a little, this isn't it. Zal ? Please.

Very good, but i have to say that vambo was kinda dissapointing here because the synthesizer sound was so cool sounding in the original live version and also that fat base sound was totally absent because of the unnecessarly loud guitar with stupid echo effect on.

I was lucky enough to see The Sensational Alex Harvey Band. They opened for Jethro Tull 1975. I had never heard of them. But, they totally blew me away. And a couple days later whoke at the record store. There it was The Sensational Alex Harvey Band Live album. I scooped it up and put it on. It was pretty much the samevshow I had just seen. Now, I've collected pretty much all of their albums plus some bootlegs. THEY CALL ME THE MIDNIGHT MOSES. EVERYTHING I TOUCH IS COMING UP ROSES !!!

Reliving my youth - and SAHB at the Edinburgh Uni in around 72 after which I went deaf in my left ear having been next to the speakers - in any SAHB gig you felt alive - sensational for sure. Life then was all about the anticipation - no TV gigs (sometimes OGWT), no internet, no local Perth concerts - no instant gratification - just glorius live memorable gigs I once in I think '69 hitchiked to the Usher Hall in Edinburgh and waited at the stage door for Ten Years After and ended up as a rodie for the night, collecting the frisbies from the tiers with Alvin Lee & Co seeing how far they could throw them. We walked soooo far towards Perth on the way home before getting a lift.

Not true ! I looked up the average life expectancy for males in Scotland in 1982 (when Alex died) and nowadays (2024), and the average lifespan pretty much compare with England and Ireland etc. (e.g around 76/78 years). Maybe you forgot that Alex worked hard and partied hard for many many decades (late nights, hard drinking, and various substances, etc. Life in the fats lane.

The first SAHB song I heard was "There's no lights on the Christmas tree mother they;re burning big Louie tonight" after that I was hooked. I had seen Tear Gas several times in Buckhaven Miners Welfare in the late 60's probably and knew that they were a good live band but this took them to a different level. Rip Alex you are sorely missed.

I am 53 and consider myself very knowledgeable about popular music for at least the last 100 years. I only just a couple weeks ago found Alex and think that he was indeed sensational, and his band, all heavy hitters. I went from feeling like "Where has this been all my life" to.... "Thank goodness I found this Man".... To think I might have completely missed this....

I'd been aware of Alex from a couple of his earlier solo albums, but SAHB were just something else, truly sensational. I still put the albums on the turntable regularly.
