❤ I live in Hawaii and work in a garden center. When I was able to receive this white tacca into my garden, I was thrilled to purchase one. I live in a studio facing Waikiki beach. I have air conditioning. Can you tell me any tips to help it thrive? It currently has two blooms. How often will it bloom? When the blooms die do I cut them off? Will granular fertilizer help keep it healthy? I can’t add photos, but will gladly share on email, if you are interested.

Hello Tavis, congratulations on securing your very own White Bat plant. It will bring you a lot of joy! Based on experience the white bat plant in zone 9, blooms from late summer into Fall (August to October). The plant will send up several flower stalks that blooms sometimes 2 at a time. Though it's not necessary to cut off the bloom stalks, you may for appearance. By the way, it's said to have seeds, though that has not been my experience. White bat plants thrive best outdoors in high humidity, in part-sun and water when the soil is dry. In zone 12 where you live, if you have access to a shade tree or a patio that would be ideal, as the plant will not do well in an air-conditioned environment long- term. The plant in the video is over 15 years old and has never received any fertilizer. However, you may add fertilizer once in the Spring and see how it does. You may Email photos to: [email protected]. Thanks for watching!

Thank you for thd video. Whst is a moderate amount?
@gardeningmindfully653116 күн бұрын
Hello Marcia, this plant makes a very mild tasting tea. Just like any other herb or plant that I use to make tea, I generally will use only a couple leaves to brew tea no more than 3 days each week. I also take a break for one or two months. I do not drink it continuously which is how I moderate the amount. Thanks for watching and I hope my explanation was helpful.
