@@brickools7348 thank you 😊 I’ve just continue the roof style from the original set. Like to try to retain as much of the original style as possible. Not sure where it will be featured in my city yet, but a cobbled street would fit best. Just need to find enough other building to fit the similar style. The Parisian Restaurant is an obvious suitor.

@Levi-od6un I bought two sets and sold the minifigs from the second to help fund the build. I quickly realised I’d have a lot of parts left over, so didn’t go down the route of buying a third set, went down the Bricklink avenue instead.

Just a quick heads up on the sound on the videos.. the talking is at a very low volume level but the music much higher. So if you turn up to hear the talking. When the music starts it’s very very loud.

It is amazing; but being a basement you can't see into it, not that you really see it into windows. If I were you, I would consider making a hinged wall allowing you to open it up and easily see what is in place.

Beast's Lab looks so good! This set is turning out to be massive - as a mansion should be. Who would have thought the basement levels are even more interesting than the main house levels?

Thank you. It sure is big! Loving the basement too. Nice to build from your own head and it be more MOC than Expansion. Just eating up so many bricks! Annoying (and expensive) when I keep running out and having to stop. 😂

@@savagesquadultimate3557 like the video shows, it will sit underneath. I just need to replace the baseplates on the Mansion with normal plates and it will sit on top of the basement structure, just like a modular building floor.

You have so many ideas I never even thought of, your progress is inspiring. I really enjoy the attention to detail you put into this build. Your danger room is going to be massive, which will make for some really nice battle scenes. Way better than the silly room we got with the X-Mansion. I was wondering if you were going to have the X-Jet underneath a basketball court? I was also thinking about the garage with the different vehicles and motorcycles as in the movies/cartoons.

@@BricktacularMOCs I understand. I wonder how many levels underground the X-Mansion is supposed to have? When you consider the Danger Room, X-Jet, Cerrebro, Medical Lab, Hallways and Uniform Storage Bays, it's a lot. I was thinking the Garage would have to be a separate build above ground and also a Greenhouse for Storm. For that I was thinking of using the small Friends Botanical Garden set and attaching it to the X-Mansion on the back. Then near the front entrance (or rear) there would be a fountain.

Nice build, maybe add a kitchen to the ground floor. It is seen a lot in the series. I expanded mine (only added a 3rd floor and expanded the back of the middle section), I have a kitchen/dining area, entranceway, and kept danger room on first floor. My 2nd floor has danger room upper part, expanded medical room with Prof. X's office (very small) and lab/classroom similar to the set. 3rd floor has bedrooms in each wing and 2 small bathrooms with a hangout/living room area. I was thinking of removing the Danger room but haven't pulled that trigger yet. The grand staircase you have is a nice touch. I would like to put something that in mine, but the area is too small. Nice work.

You could always add saw blades in the danger room. Or guns coming out of the walls. They also used to have hoops, traps, and opponents. You could have a magneto and a mini sential fighting the heroes. I'm loving this kinda gives me some ideas for a ww2 fortress , at least the prison area. I'm trying to come up with a castle like setting with German troops fight the invaders and the All-Star squadron. I know two different companies but in my universe the characters exist in one universe.

I’ve got some of the saws and missiles from the original set. Also have the guns on the lower left wall. My thinking is to add multiple obstacles around the room.

This crazy man . The only thing I can think to ad would be a quarters for Wong and Clea. Maybe check one of the marvel handbooks to more rooms or details. The same for the xmansion. One other thing would be to do a Avengers Mansion . Not a tower but a mansion. Just a thought.

@@richardlaceyfield9 not sure they’ll be the space for other bedroom. Wong will just have an open a portal to his room somewhere else! 😂 I have a MOC tower, but I’ve not shown it yet. It’s fairly large!! 😂 I thought about doing the newer compound build, but need to try to focus on getting some current stuff finished.

As far as statues you could always use some knights and put them in the hallways . You could also expand the rooms to house the students that became the New Mutants . Maybe in the basement have a lab for Forge or Beast . Extra bed rooms are a must if your doing the old X-Men teams with Kitty , Peter, etc... Man I wish I had the room and bricks to do what your doing.

Very cool video. I love what your doing with this mansion. With what I'm seeing you no doubt have spent a couple thousand in parts alone. I'm loving the detail you are putting in book cases and furenture. I don't know if you do stop motion animation but you really should make a series.

@@richardlaceyfield9 ow no, no where near thousands! I’ve spent about £650 on all my Bricklink orders since I start, but that includes lots of parts for other builds and stock parts. So maybe £200. Then bought two sets, but sold the GWP’s from both and figures from one’s set, so recouped a chuck of money there. I’d say I’m at about £500 at the moment, but that’s a really rough figure. I’ll work a proper price out. Stop motion is something I’ll look into more 👍

@ with two sets, you could certainly add a third floor and should be able to make it slightly wider. It will just depended on the size/length of the bricks you have left over, to be able to get it done nicely. If you look at the earlier videos of this build, you’ll see what I mean. 👍

The upstairs left and right windows look a brick too high. And the window boxes for them are far too low. Have you tried seperating the window boxes from the ground floor awnings, to move them closer to the upstairs windows, to see how that looks ?

You are very much correct. While I was editing the video I spent ages looking at the final build and there is definitely something off. I’m not keen on the dark green canopies being at different heights and the double layer of tan doesn’t look right. Think it’s needs to be a top and bottom run frame of tan. Moving the plant boxes up is a great idea, that will definitely break up the flat wall. Definitely needs some more work. I’ll plan a ‘Part 2’ with the adjustments and then sort the interior.

The curve build on the cebro gwp is pretty good. It would be easy to extend the sides to encapsulate more of the professor. Not sure if you’ve got it but it’s worth a look.

For cerebro, you could try to invert the pattern used on the lego globe set.

I was thinking the same thing using the globe. If the globe is too big, then try the Death Star as another smaller option. Set 40591 is probably too small for Cerebro, but use it as a simple model to follow and make it bigger.

@@Levi-od6un thank you. It’s two sets, but bought a bunch more bricks from Bricklink. Buying a third set would have been a waste as lots of left over parts and not enough of the bits needed.

I’ve never attempted a large scale MOC before but seeing this makes me want to try recreate it or do something similar so much. Seeing the original set after seeing this video makes the original set look depressing by comparison lol. Amazing work!

Great expansion. I’m just waiting for a Lego pab order to finish mine off. Was interested to see you’ve done the roof overhang on the left and right wings. I had the same issue with the geometry but decided against it as I didn’t think it looked quite right. Ref the source xmen 97 mansion. In the end made the building rooms/footprint bigger. But fantastic vs the Lego og.

Figure I’m probably going to add some garden area and maybe a basketball court, so overhang shouldn’t be an issue there. But you’re correct, it is differing from the reference. All things I can look back at once getting towards the final version. 👍

@@SteelWolf13 not yet. Wanted to get the building finished then work the interior. I’m thinking a classroom, library and living room downstairs. Classrooms, Charles office and maybe a science lab on the middle floor. Then bedrooms and bathrooms on the top floor. Plan to add some interior walls too. Then the basement for Cerebro and the danger room.

@@AwesomeLaturn do you mean the grey pillars running up the whole building? They come loose quite easy when I remove the different levels. So have to remember to press them back on. There is a little wobble to some as the light grey floor sections don’t always sit flush with the walls.
