I had a 23 z06/z07. Traded it for a huracan 24 technica . Not even close. The brakes on the Z06 are mushy the DCT is lazy. The Z06 motor is a piece of art tho. If GM gets their act together and makes the DCT and brakes refined then it’s another story. I think it’s just a matter of tuning the cpu

I did have someone else driving the car make those same points about the brakes and the DCT! I’ve yet to drive a technica but I am definitely going to try to get my hands on one to feel the differences

@@konns_cars the Huracan is like a 911 GT3 on steroids. It brakes harder, the shifts are more aggressive, and the acceleration is just brutal with 140 more horses. I think GM had to put safety margins in because the brakes are digital instead of analog. So they can be adjusted. I think the tranny is supposed to learn the driver. I only gave it a month. So it didn’t have time to learn my driving. And I never put it into race mode. (The Z06) because I was still breaking in the motor.

Its not a match from a technical standpoint. A GT4 is in the competitive bracket of the Stingray, and only the GT3 series competes at the Z06 performance level. You should read car and drivers comparison test of the two cars, and the STINGRAY beat the GT4 in performance testing. Porsche cars have trouble beating GMs C8 Y chassis series as all rounders because of pricing period. Its not the same GM vs Porsche game with the mid engine c8 series like it was in the past.

I have driven 10K miles in a year because I just wanted to drive it all the time. I would drive it across the country it is so comfortable and gets 20+ MPG too. Great video!

Damn good video! But…. You are not quite high enough in the rev range.. 6000 RPM an above is the sweet spot. Ya gotta know how to drive it to appreciate it. If you’ve ever had a 2 stroke dirt bike than you know what I’m talking about. Gotta stay “on the pipe” You think the stock exhaust is good on the Z06, mine is catless with a Titanium Ryft 🔊💥🔊💥🔊

The corvette is not a super car.. you just indirectly showed why it’s not, not only is the corvette an attempt to copy a super car but you can’t copy the experience from a truly exotic car.. Ferraris, Lamborghinis, mcclarens etc are more than lap times it’s the connection.. a corvette is a mass production car, nothing exotic about it- his face expression in a 15yr old car is the definition of an exotic super car not an attempt to copy one.

just based on corner confident, z06 with carbon ceramic brakes, cup 2 tires and z07 is prob the difference maker between the 2. Great comparison, honestly alot of porche owners are struggling with moving into z06, personally its where im at. great video!

Not sure what this guy has driven but I have had several Vettes, ZR1s,Z06s current Z06 and a few Porsches, The car in mirror being closer than he was comfortable with does he know the mirror can be adjusted? Lag in shifting never had that problem? The cameras help quite a bit. I can tell he is a Porsche fan boy. My GT3 is nice have had a 997.2 S, sold it I felt like a car for a woman. Get out and drive the damn Z. Take it out of tour mode and press the pedal.

I didn’t even know about the mirror being adjustable so thanks haha I have not experienced the gears lagging either but I do welcome different takes and opinions as well. After we put it in track mode he definitely loved the car. They are amazing cars I absolutely love the Z!

I didn’t realize the mirrors could be adjusted, and the shifting didn’t feel as quick as my GT500’s transmission, though that might just be a placebo effect. Overall, I loved the Z06 and would love to do another back-to-back drive with both cars on Sport Cup 2s. I enjoy Porsches, but the Z06 really impressed me. There’s something special about American muscle cars!
